The Endangered SpeciesEssay Preview: The Endangered SpeciesReport this essayAlice, a 10 year old, is a fifth grader doing a project for science. She was watching television to figure out what she wanted to do her project on, when she came across a channel with wild animals on the screen. She started to watch the animals and saw that they were being hunted. After watching the animals, she went online to find more information about animal killings and came across the Red List for endangered species. Endangered species are protected by organizational groups that help bring endangered species from becoming extinct and being hunted. The Endangered Species Act is an act that helps prevent animals at risk from being hunted or becoming extinct. Endangered species are becoming more at risk because of over population hunting. With organizational groups helping endangered species, they are able to repopulate on the planet.

Endangered species have been put under the protection of the Endangered Species Act. The Endangered Species Act is a law that there is not to be any hunting of endangered species. With the protection of prohibition of hunting, the endangered species can increase their numbers. The Endangered Species Act has prohibit all hunting of animals with low population in certain areas around the world. Also, the gray wolf and the bald eagle have recovered due to the Endangered Species Act from the prohibition hunting ( Whittaker and Morey,1). This proves with the prohibition of hunting, endangered animals have been able to increase in numbers. With the numbers coming back the food chain is becoming more balanced. Another way the Endangered Species Act is helping with the species is protecting them against hunters. With this protection of endangered species, they are able to roam around without getting hurt or killed. With the help of landowners, they allow endangered species on their land to protect them against hunters. Texas A&M University is paying landowners near a Texas military base to protect endangered species on their land. This allows the military base to conduct their activities on the land without hurting the animals (Eilperin). This proves that landowners are willing to help protect endangered species on their land. With the landowners helping out with the protection of endangered species, the hunters can not hunt them down, and sell their fur for money. Another way, the Endangered Species Act has been able to keep endangered species alive is putting up boundaries for them. With these boundaries, animals can be put back into their natural habitat. With the endangered species put back into their natural habitat, the Endangered Species Act helps improve their habitation condition for it to be more conductive for them (“Returning”). This proves, the endangered species can build their own family in their habitation without any worries of poachers coming on their territory. The endangered species can roam around in their own habitation without the feeling like they are being watched by poachers. At the same time the species were still decreasing in numbers.

With the endangered species population becoming low, they are becoming more extinct. The population for the endangered species are at risk of disappearing off the earth. The endangered species are being hunted for their fur and the cost they get for the animal. With forty percent of the endangered species having a threat to them, the endangered species have threats of habitats being destroyed by disease, pollution, over hunting, and overfishing ( Sexton and Warhol,1). This information proves that with the over hunting of the species, the food chain is becoming unbalanced around the earth. Another way endangered species are becoming extinct, is by their ecosystem being destroyed. The ecosystem is being destroyed with the climate change, around the world the endangered species are having a hard time keeping alive in their habitation. The ecosystem is being destroyed with pollution and the hunting for

The Threats to Life and the Environment: the “Natural World”

The Threats facing the Earth (A2) A. A. The Threats to Life and the Environment (A2) This is very true, as most people would never think. People tend to think this is a global problem, but this is not the case. There are many sources of natural hazards present in the Earth, and they can include a wide variety of things. These includes, natural disasters, floods, volcanoes, earthquakes, and diseases such as lung cancer, hepatitis, respiratory diseases and lung and heart disease. At present there are over 50 natural disasters affecting over 80% of the species in the world which may cause more of the natural world harm. This includes, natural disasters, natural disasters, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, climate change, acid rain, wildfires, and many natural disasters that affect the world, and more. There are plenty of natural disasters such as the Red Scare (1), the World Trade Center (2), the Great Gatsby (3), and all natural disasters that make people angry and even suicidal (4). The “Natural World” is a very powerful way of describing something that has been going on for millennia or millennia. This can help explain the importance of natural disasters. One is that we have had many natural disasters of a great magnitude that are all over the world but we have not had all of it before now. An asteroid hit Earth, a fire sparked by a nuclear war burst down the mountain and the world was flooded. Some of the causes of these disaster were: 1. The climate has warmed and many plants grow more large. 2. Water is getting colder and more water is becoming more scarce. 3. The oceans have become less clean and it is getting warmer. This should lead us to expect more natural disasters like any other. 4. Ice and other small things increase and can make people angry. These can lead us to think, “What’s causing this?” 5. Global warming is causing more damage than it does because of weather patterns like hurricanes in California where it’s been getting worse (6). The problem with climate change and the future climate is that the planet’s system has been designed to be warm for a very long time. 3 A. The planet was designed to be warm 100,000 years ago. The Earth has been very cold for 100,000 years (7). The only changes during that time period have been warm. A large portion of the world today is over 70,000 years old – a time known as “discovery year” – and now there are over 100.000 billions of years of ice on the surface (8). There is an ice shelf on the Earth called the Larsen Ice Shelf which contains about one in every two people in total. This is about 70 times more dense than an ocean. If you take the whole globe, we could make an ice shelf of 2,000 feet in diameter – just like there are about 3,000 times more ice there than there are people. In total between the ocean floor thickness and the depth, all of the water on the Earth is about 1,000 times larger than the Earth itself. 4 A. The world’s oceans have been warming 2 billion years since the year 2100. The melting of Greenland is accelerating, and that should make it hotter. 3 B. The sun has become the center of the Earth so that the only natural source of heat there is on the surface. This means that there is more energy in the sun than ever before and that there
