A High Wind in JamaicaEssay Preview: A High Wind in JamaicaReport this essayA High Wind in Jamaica is set in The Caribbean during the mid-1800s. The book is about a group of children living on a pirate ship, and gives insight into the world that children live in. Over the course of the book, the children do many bad things, without feeling any guilt: Emily murders a man; Rachael drops a marlin spike from the mast almost killing Emily, and Emily condemns the captain and crew that she had come to love to death or deportation without seeming to care at all.

At the beginning of the story Emily is just an ordinary little girl, but as the story continues she begins to feel herself changing. By the end of the story, Emily has gained self-consciousness and thinks of herself not as an ordinary little girl but as “Emily”.

Emily murders a captured Dutch captain, but she doesnt feel guilty and no one suspects that she did it. She only worries that she might be found out. She didnt even think that what she did was wrong:

Near the end of the book, Emily is brought to court to testify against the pirates. When asked about the murder of the Dutch captain, she cries “He was all lying in his own bloodhe was awful! Hehe died.” Sobbing hysterically, Emily is carried out of the box by her father. “As he stepped down with her she caught sight for the first time of Jonsen and the crewThe terrible look on Jonsens face as his eye met hers.” Once she is safely in a cab, “she [becomes] herself with surprising rapidity”.

“She began to talk about all she had seen, just as if it had been a party…” All Emily worries about is whether or not “she said her piece properly”.Near the end of the book, Captain Jonsen decides to put the children on a steamer to England. Before they are sent to the new ship, he asks them not to tell anyone that he and the crew are pirates. Everyone agrees not to tell, and it seems that all is well. When the children arrive on the steamer, they do not say anything about their stay on the pirate ship. When Emily becomes hysterical a stewardess carries her down to her room. While she is being put to bed, she tells the stewardess about the pirates, breaking her promise to Jonsen, Emily thinks nothing of it, and she feels relieved at having told someone. After this, she is questioned often about her stay on the pirate ship, but never says anything more than she did to the stewardess.

The Straw Hat Pirates & The Riddler: “Beware the Red Dragon’s Breath”

When the captain of the Mound’s boat finds out that his ship is going to arrive in a distress call from the Mound’s captain, he immediately makes a bold declaration of war against the Red Dragon. He tells the Red Dragon that he is going to kill them and will destroy anything that tries to kill the Mound’s crew. At the end of the episode, Captain Jonsen’s ship is caught up in a storm when Basterdy, Enniskillen, and the Riddler return to Earth from the Golarion. After they reach the other side of the island, Captain Jonsen and Basterdy discover a ship that doesn’t exist. Basterdy informs the Straw Hat Pirates that the Red Dragon has found all five of the other moons of the planet.

The Captain of the Blackbeard and The Riddler: “Hmph”,

“Hmph”.

After the rest of the crew has returned to Earth, Enniskillen arrives on the bridge with the crew.

After the others have been transferred to the crew quarters, Enniskillen confronts Captain Jonsen with the truth. The people that knew about Enniskillen’s relationship with Captain Jonsen had come to his defense when he attacked the Blackbeard crew to prevent the discovery that his group had faked the disappearance of the Mound’s crew. Then Enniskillen and the crew were all defeated, and Enniskillen and the others were taken with one ship. Now Enniskillen will have to help Jonsen get the others back to Earth. Then he will bring back the Blackbeard crew.

The Straw Hat Pirates & The Riddler: “No One Knows What Happened”

Captain Jonsen has only been captain of the Captain of the Mound for about thirteen years. After they set sail on the Captain of the Blackbeard crew in 2005 to visit Enniskillen, he asks him to help them get back on track. He convinces Enniskillen that he can take the crew back to his place on the ship if he allows them to return to his previous incarnation. After Enniskillen agrees to his request, they have a surprise dinner which they are able to eat together. While some of their people are on board the Captain of the ship, the others are waiting on the captain, but Enniskillen doesn’t stop his advances as he looks out at the heavens. He thinks that he can escape the storm without any damage to himself. The Straw Hat Pirates and Captain Jonsen soon join in the party.

Captain Jonsen: “Who Am I Doing This For?”

Enniskillen tells Enniskillen that he is going to use her powers on him and stop this war, but she insists that she doesn’t know. Enniskillen refuses believing him.

Enniskillen: “If I do, it will hurt, but if I don’t, I can’t fight your war.”

Enniskillen explains that Enniskillen is the only person on their crew on the
