This memo will be contingent on research of Google, Apple and Home Depot–3 companies with in-depth experience of empowerment and micromanagement styles of leadership.Apple and Home Depot with micromanagementMicromanagement, is a business management style which means leader control-obsessed, a risk disempowering their colleagues’ style of leadership. Sometimes, micromanagement generally has a negative connotation and content for company and employees.Steve Jobs, as a CEO, has worked at Apple for more than 20 years and he has devoted his life to Apple. Apple is an American multinational technology company and main business include designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. During his period, he made an outstanding contribution to the Apple Corporation. He successfully developed and designed Macintosh computer, IPhone and iPod those series of high-tech products. In Apple, Jobs can dictate everything and be successful. For instance, Jobs dismissed the marketing director Mike Murray and ignored other counterviews. Jobs’ cost in doing so was that he was ousted from his role as the head of the Macintosh division, because his micromanaging lead to confusion, fear and dysfunction that was affecting the development of the Macintosh (Thomson, 2015). After Jobs death, Apple has not developed the excellent products as during his tenure. Although Apple Watch has a general small wins in short time. This situation was grown out of Jobs control and supervision. Under micromanagement, all decisions depend on Jobs. However, he did not set up the teams, and did not give authorization to any employees. Most of employees were timid and tentative in his presence. Apple does not have a climate of trust with other employees. The company’s knowledge and information seems only too resided with Jobs. With a good leader, trust is important reason for the leadership. The leader needs to develop cooperative goals and roles, start strengthen and share with others. When Apple lost core leadership -Steve Jobs, the disadvantages of it immediately to exposure the company’s leadership transition. After his death, the stock price did not reproduce the brilliant achievements of before. Now, Jobs transition CEO, Tim Cook, has started to change the Apple and micromanagement issue.
