From Rags to RichesEssay Preview: From Rags to RichesReport this essay“From Rags to Riches”My father faced some harsh times as a child in Mexico such as not having much medicine for sicknesses, not having a school, and not having any job opportunities. His Dad only wanted the best for him. So when my dad was about 11 years old his dad decided to go to the United States to get a job with his brother. My father was from an area that did not have a public educational system and it was very poor. My father wanted an opportunity to work for money and to improve his life a little bit.

In 1971 my father was 17 years old he decided that he wanted to come to the United States and live with his dad and uncle in Aurora, IL. He did not want to wait until he was 18 because it would take a long time to get his Green Card. He took a bus from his hometown Tepehuanes, Durango all the way to a city called Ciudad Juarez, which is right before the border of the United States and Mexico. It was a 16-hour ride for him since the roads over there are very curvy because of the mountains. Also the roads arent of high quality. When he arrived there he took a taxi across the border into El Paso, Texas. El Paso is where he took a plane to OHare Airport in Chicago. My grandpa picked him up. He quickly noticed America was full of work. He noticed how advanced the United States was and the quality of the streets, buildings, and cars. It was also the first time he sawsnow since he came in January. It was a huge change, but he was very excited and wanted to make money.

I read all 9 of the chapters. All 5 of them were written by my father, and every chapter was very detailed. My father is an accomplished author. He will make this book so special. His illustrations are beautiful and he is very creative with it. He is so talented he created a painting with it for the book. There were 3 versions of this book (1 story) that were printed and the other 2 are only available online through other online publishing houses.

My mom read it after the book was started, and I enjoyed the pictures as well. It is like a true autobiographical book.

Sketchy illustrations, inspired by my father. In pictures are:

1. There is a beautiful man and a woman working at the office of the Chicago branch of the drug cartel.

2. There is a man wearing a high-achute shirt and having his shirt buttoned.

3. One man on another level is wearing a belt-waist top with a yellow chain.

4. The one on the left is going to tell the stories of an old man with a great personality when he is working toward his dreams.

5. The man is dressed like a clown.

6. The one on the right is really happy and happy.

7. The man wears a yellow glove as he is about to walk out of the office where he has a bad dream.

8. The story starts with the man getting to his office and his assistant showing him how he would like to be paid to look at his papers and he is not only smiling but his face is actually going crazy.

9. I think that’s typical of my father, when he was young. My mom kept telling me how cool my dad was when making his living in the United States. The first time he saw me, I was surprised. I looked up the picture of my father, and it was in a picture of my grandfather, who did not look like he had wrinkles. My dad would turn and look like he was making a joke, and when he looked at the picture, it changed his face from being happy and going crazy.

My mom reads and says she will buy 3 copies of this book.

I am glad I got my 3 copies of these books. I wish I found a bookstore or some store where you can order this book. Also after this post I will never forget what it looked like when I was growing up in my house and I always remember my father making every order. It was an incredible gift for me and my family.

I have never gone overseas. I remember waking up in my first day in my new country. I had a great time. I walked the streets with my father’s picture of the United States and I saw my grandparents and grandfather and aunts and uncles walking around my house smiling. I saw the American flag. I remember feeling very sad when I was little. I was glad I was a young child. I wish I could have done that.

My dad

My grandpa is who brought him to the United States. He sent an application for my father so he can come and work to make money. My Grandpa worked in a factory in Aurora. When my dad arrived he immediately found a job in Lombard where they make boxes of cardboard. There he made $2.25 cents an hour! He started at 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM. Luckily gas prices werent as high as there are now or else my dad would have really struggled with money. He usually got a ride from his cousin who worked in the same factory as him. My cousin is the person who found my dad that job. Speaking of money my dad only had enough money to get him the border, the taxi across the border, for food and the airplane ticket to Chicago. He had only brought one briefcase, which contained only 5 pairs of pants, a couple of shoes, and one pair of shoes. He stayed in a house with my grandpa in Aurora.

Racism and prejudice is one thing my father did experience quite a lot. He had a couple incidents where he noticed it. On airplane to Chicago on the airplane he had just gotten on the plane and noticed that the security guards were checking a lot more Latinos and African Americans then whites. Then after that a Latino greeted my dad and they began to talk. They were talking only a short time when the flight attendant told the Latino my dad was talking to that he
