Some of my early frustrations were getting my helpee to ask me questions when they were confused. I could tell when they needed help or had a question, so I would always just interject and give them ideas and suggestions. But it started to get hard for me to help when I noticed that they looked confused, but weren’t asking any questions. I think for the most part that this issue has been resolved. Some days are better than others when it comes to my helpee asking questions, but they definitely seem more open to ask for help when they need it, versus me offering help when I think they need it.

Some improvements that I have seen in the relationship with my helpee is that they are more open about things that are happening in their life outside of school. When I was first introduced to my helpee we mainly focused on completing school work and didn’t have much conversation about things outside of school. But as we all started to become more comfortable with each other, my helpees started having conversations with me about their weekends before class or when they were finished of their work. I think that these improvements came after I started to try to initiate conversations about their lives outside of school. I would start by saying little things about myself each class and then it would continue with my helpees telling me little things about themselves. Something I think I can do to ensure that this relationship continues to move forward is to continue spark conversations whenever there is free time. Sometimes doing school work can be stressful and having little conversations about your life can help alleviate some stress.

After viewing my log, I feel like things have been moving a little slowly but I am still proud of the progress that I have made. In the beginning it was hard to know exactly what to be doing, or know exactly what to say. But, I think now that I have a great feel of how the class
