What Caused the Dust Bowl?
The Dust Bowl from the 1930s was a drastic event for all the people involved. The Dust Bowl was a part of the Great Depression in America. A lot of farms, cities and families got hit by the Dust Bowl and changed most of their lives for there on. But the question now is what caused the Dust Bowl? The Dust Bowl could be caused by the little rain fall (Document E), the harvest and overuse of soil (Document C,D), and Grass (Document B).

The Dust Bowl could be caused by the little rain fall in the 1930s (Document E). The reason that the rainfall was one cause of the Dust Bowl is, that in 9 years the rainfall in the area of the dust bowl was below normal and between 10 and 15 inches. 20 inches are the minimum that are required for a successful year of farming. Because of the little rainfall, the ground dried out and left dust behind. The dryness because of the little rainfall caused the Dust Bowl.

Another reason that caused the Dust Bowl in the 1930s was the harvest and the overuse of the soil (Document C,D). The tractor changed farming and harvesting into a complete new and easier thing for the farmers and because of this new invention harvest became more popular and important in farming.
