Social Imagination will allow us to see how our private or personnel issues could be entwined with the society that we live in. At some point in time we all have had to deal with a situation where it made us think about what our peers and society would think of our predicament and us. Being unemployed is certainly a dilemma that none of us want to have to deal with and the thought of being unemployed can weigh heavily on ones mind. It’s scary to think about the domino effect that could occur when being unemployed and the effect it could have on you and your family.

Unemployment is something that is more common than not in today’s business environment. The thought of what would happen if you are suddenly unemployed certainly would keep an individual up at night. The market isn’t what it used to be, especially in the construction industry these days. Coping with the fact that your unemployed is key and understanding why you were let go is imperative. It will help one adjust to the new situation and possibly push you in a different direction career wise (Editorial board, 2012). Some issues that will certainly be thought about is the stigma of being that person that just lost their job, how will the family react, and what will truly be effected by the current unemployment status?

The stigma of being unemployed can affect not only your demeanor but also affect the way that others in society treat you. What will your attitude be like and will you accept the fact you’re now unemployed? Having long-term negative outlook due to unemployment won’t help you get a new job and certainly won’t help your situation in society. Understanding that things happen and are out of ones control will help the individual get back on their feet and begin the search for
