Human Society
At all times and epochs human society faced with multiple social problems and tragedies. Some of them are extensive, other Are minor, but they all based on the basis of the negative aspects of human nature. If we open newspaper or tern on TV news, we can be horrified from what is happening all over the world. In one region people are fighting with each other for the territory or on the religious base, in other-maniacs kidnapping young girls from their own homes. Many events are hidden from public attention, nevertheless they all are exist and have dire consequences. I am going to consider two different stories of two different authors, which are about social problems, but still presents from opposite points of view. Stories are based on real events.

The first one called “The Grass-Eaters”, written by Krishnan Varma. It based on the events of a religious war and its consequences. The story tells about the broken human willing and humility with any life condition. Moreover, the main character was so apathetic, that substituted endanger not only his own life, but either life of his pregnant wife. Two more lives were at stake. He did not needed anything from life anymore. Events, that forced his family to leave their native country, break his spirit. This coach even was agreed with destiny to live in pipe. In addition, he put up with his living conditions unlike his wife, who still stived from a better existence. The theme of this story pronounced sarcasm. The name itself tells us that people can not survive by eating grass. It can be noticed sad and desperate mood of narrative.

In comparison with previous one, the story of Joyce Carol Oats “Where Are You Going, Where Have you Been” involves a slightly different side of a human tragedy. Moreover, it has some kind of warning. Story has a journalistic style and tells about kidnapping of the young girl. Nevertheless, all problems are hidden more dipper. As a matter of fact that parents did not
