Family and Society
Activity 1It’s a freshly morning in 24th JULY 2015 (Friday). Our group decided to have a picnic in Tanjung Emas, Muar in Johor.  Our group had separated into 3 small groups to prepare the food that we need to eat when picnic. Through this activity, we learnt how to communicate well with each other members for a smoothly process of preparation. We have been known each other 2 years, so we have better understanding about each other. Most of the time without any asking, we can know what the members want and don’t want.Moreover, we feel thankful to group member’s parents and their friends because they are volunteering to spend their time on our picnic activity. The parents are very talkative, they shared their life experiences for us and hope that we can avoid to do the same mistake although they are do the mistakes in young times. Since they are very open-minded person so they can easily joined into the conversation with the young generation and they also take a selfie with us. Through this family trip, our group learnt how to get closer relationship with parents and each other because we get the interaction with the parent in the preparation of food and also the talk with them. In the process, I must say a thousand of gratitude to them because they spend a lot of time to join this trip and prepared the delicious food let this trip become more enriched. This was unique memories and newly experiences toward to us.
Secondly, we know each other have their own roles and what is need to do. Without any order then can completed the thing successfully. We put many effort on the preparation of picnic and feel satisfied with our work because the outcome was out of our expectation. This is because we know we have to coordinate with each other so we can get the best outcome regardless what kind of matters.After the picnic, we cleaned up the place and packed the rubbish tightly. Apart from the food, we know that the cleanliness of the place is also important.Activity 2We conducted our activity 2 which is prepare dinner and having dinner with friends on 10th AUG 2015 (Monday). In that day, we went to the Family store and purchased the ingredients together. After finished shopping, we went to one of the member’s house to prepare the ingredients for BBQ dinner, set up the fire and mini-game after the BBQ dinner.“More hands make for lighter work.” These adages speak to the potential groups have to be more productive, creative, and motivated than individuals on their own. From this BBQ gathering, we know the power of cooperation is greater than the power of one person. We were separated into 2 small groups to prepare the ingredients, set up the fire and clean the floor outside.Furthermore, we had some quarrel in the discussion of the planning due to the location problems, the personal flavors problems and also the time problem. But we can solved all the problems just because of one thing called mutual tolerance. We learnt the tolerance and the teamwork is the most important for a team and also a family regardless what kind of matters we met. During the dinner, we chatted our campus life, our hometown and the purpose we were here. Most of us were came from different state and from the conversation, we knew more about different state, different culture and more understand each other. In the end, it make us think about, when was the last time have a dinner with our family? In fact we should cherish every moment when we are with our family.
