Do Different Places of Your Tongue Affect Your Taste?
In this experiment, with the help of Oliver, Robert, Ryan, Byron and Chichi, I will be finding out if the taste of different substances will be affected by placing it on different places of your tongue. I will also be finding out if some places are more sensitive or less sensitive than others. The independent variable will be the place the solution will be dropped on, on the testers tongue. The dependent variable will be the percentage of the accurate answers the tester has given. The controlled variables will be the volume of the solution used on the tester, which is 0.2 mL, the same solutions (bitter, sweet, sour and salty solutions), the same syringes used in the experiment, the places on the tongue the solution will be dropped on, and finally, the same tester, which will be Oliver. My hypothesis is that the middle of the tongue will be the most sensitive place compared to all the other parts.

In this experiment, I will need:
Four syringes
Four cups with different solutions- bitter, sweet, sour and salty
A bottle of water
Blindfold
A tester (Oliver)
Method
Prepare all equipment.
Fill each syringe with 0.2mL of a different solution
Blindfold the tester
Decide which part of the tongue will be tested and which solution will be used
Place 0.2mL of the chosen solution on the chosen part of the tongue
Allow tester to drink water after guessing the solution
Repeat experiment in random order
Record results
After preparing all the equipment and preparing the solution in the syringes, we will blindfold the tester so he will actually have to taste the solutions instead of accidentally seeing it. He will then stick his tongue out straight as we drip the solution on the chosen part of the tongue. After he has guessed the solution, we will record the results into our tables while he rinses his mouth with water to remove any taste of the previous solution so we can make the following tests fair tests. As the next test proceeds, the rest of us will refill the solutions to an exact amount of 0.2 mL.

In this experiment, I have to make sure that the tester is not allergic to any types of food in order to continue safely. I also have to make sure that the tester does not overhear the decision of the solution that will be used in order to make
