RESULTS WHILE PLAYING THE SIMULATION
The simulation was a very interesting experience. Because it is the ultimate test to see if
your idea can work within the workplace depending on where you are in the pyramid of
leadership. Just like everyone else before starting the first scenario we have a plan on how we are
going to have the greatest plan of action and how the rest of the company is going to follow our
lead. That is until you notice that even though the simulation is automated, it shows how
different people in their different positions in different divisions of the company has their own
ideas, their own mind set on doing something great for the company and some are there to
simply resist because they do not want a change in any shape, form or fashion to take place in the
company.
I can admit that the results of the first scenario was kind of discouraging due to after
doing the personal interviews it seemed that since I wasn’t a CEO that nothing I wanted to do
mattered. The only thing that seems to save any credibility was by getting help from the
consultants. If one thing is timed wrong or loses the interest of the rest of the staff it’s a slow
crash for the rest of the simulation. I didn’t have any adopters outside of myself. In the third
scenario as a director I used a similar strategy, but I ended up with more positive outcomes. It
was all much to my surprise. I used the consultant a little bit more and personally interviewed
more people. In the first and third scenarios I would confront the resister, and in both situations it
was labeled as a bad move. More of the company was kind of resistant to the idea of building a
