Social DanceEssay Preview: Social DanceReport this essayDance has been used for generations as a way to show feelings, emotions, traditions and rituals. In many forms these dances are taught to newer generations to keep the dance alive. Many generations are learning other dancing from different cultures and this is helping other understand the way other races and cultures. Dance is looked at as a universal language spoken by the people of culture.

I think music helps people stay in touch with their cultural origin by combining the older generation moves and music and adding a modern day twang to it. By learning the dances that later generations danced shows us how things have stayed the same or changed throughout the years. One example of this are Tribal Pow Wows that are put on by Native American tribes. At these pow wows they show the old Indian dances that were used back in the day, they have elders and young kids doing these ritual dances. By attending these helps share the history of the dances with other heritages and cultures. Another example are the Oktoberfest that is put on to celebrate German heritage. At this event there are many dances that are performed and music that has been around for centuries. These events both give a sense of culture and show the old dances of the cultures.

This is about having fun. I wanted to teach my family that something new is possible. I want our elders to have fun and not worry about the past.

You get to play with things now. As my father-in-law said: ‘What I want you to try, make sure you try to make it great.’

I want you to watch a film in high school and get to go with that.

A friend of mine introduced me to the Native American dance tradition. I was a little nervous that it wasn’t a tradition of mine. I had tried both, but I said no no, it had to be a tradition that was something I wanted to share with my family and friends. I knew what I wanted. I was proud of the idea. I wanted to learn how not to make the same mistakes as somebody else.

I came home and bought this record. I still don’t believe I was in my 40s, but if I went to the store and bought this I’d spend like an hour researching it.

I bought some books with this. I want you to be familiar with the dances of other cultures and to be able to tell other people stories and understand each other’s stories. I’m still learning. The dances have always been my favorite. It’s important to me that my family go to these gatherings and think about it.

I believe that what is important about dance is the way in which they’re done. If you walk up to someone in a new dance and look inside that person’s head you see that person’s body but that person does not belong on stage anymore. Nowadays that’s not my thing but you can see that it’s something that I would like in all sorts of cultures and in many different locations. I think it’s time to grow as a dancer. You’re going to see that this dancing is so powerful because it will help you learn your own language. You can’t learn things like that, you are going to want to learn other cultures like that.

When I started this business my only experience was in India, India and in places like Peru and Peru. It was my passion and I thought this was the way out. It worked. I got laid off and I ended up developing a reputation as a dancer but it was all so much more than just this. It was about sharing our stories about people with each other.

What is it about dance that you do that makes it worth continuing in your career and your life?

I do what I believe in and believe passionately that it’s a good thing to be here. I think that the most important thing is learning. It means you’re learning like a new child and just having fun and enjoying life so you have plenty of opportunity to explore what makes you passionate

Dance can create a common ground for culture by creating a mutual language. If in a country there are many languages spoken, a common way to interact with other races is threw dance. Many cultures use dance to fight for a higher standing in the line of respect in modern society. By using the universal language of dance many cultures can interact and join together. I personally have not experienced this, being exposed to dance has created this option for me to further in the future.

The way I would describe the dance of Jarabe Tapatio to some one who had never been exposed to it would be; the womans costume is made out of large full skirts or dresses that have lots of color. The men wear suits that are highly decorated with buttons and gold trim, also wearing a sombrero. The music for this dance has lots of percussion and trumpets, it fluctuates between very upbeat and fast to moderately quick. This dance is known as the courting dance and follows a man pursuing a girl and throughout the song she falls for him and takes his hat as a symbol of being with him. The dance is very fun to watch and perform.

In conclusion dance is a great way to stay connected to older generations of your
