People can be seen as being in a different class depending on how much or how little money they make. This categorization is known as classism. There are three major classifications in which people are titled. These three classes are known as upper, or high class which is the class of people with the most money. This is the smallest group of the three classes.

The second is known as middle class. This is the class of people who bring in your average income. These people tend to live simple and within their means, but comfortable. The third class of people is known as the lower class, which are generally families who only have one income, if any. This group of people are forced to live in low budget housing due to the lack of money coming in, because they were either born into that lifestyle and are used to it, or they feel they dont have a choice because no one want to pay a high dollar salary to someone with a lack of skill caused from a lack of good education.

Classism does not have anything to do with what kind of a person you are or what kind of attitude you have in life. You are born into a class depending on what your parents or caretakers situation is. You can be born rich, poor, or somewhere in between. You have a choice in life to change your class of money. You can change your class by going further with your education to get a degree which will make you more successful at getting a good paying career, putting you into a higher class; or you can drop out of high school and not pursue a college degree in which you will most likely get a minimum wage job putting you into a lower class income bracket.

No matter what a familys classification is, it can change at any time. You have the power in your own hands to decide where you will end up in life. Seeing as to how only a very small percent of the people in America bring in about $900,000 per year, not everyone can be upper classed. For most
