This movie shows and talks about many aspects of their lives. It educates us on the Tuareg culture, how harsh the environment can be on them, and how upcoming technology has impacted on them. All these things are very important topics that I will discuss.
In the film, it starts off with Adam’s sister getting married. All the villagers celebrate with many activities, like camel racing for example. The only thing that is different with their culture is that Islamic culture is mixed in with it. When the Muslims took over most of North Africa, their culture spread with them causing cultural diffusion. The Tuaregs eventually adopted most of the Islam ways but not all of them.
Many things can tell us about their culture. Their clothing is part of their culture because it symbolizes them and everyone knows them by what they wear. Like how the women wear veils but it’s not covering all their body. This could tell people that they worship part of Islam but they still worship what they always had. Also the Tuaregs are called the Blue People because they dye their clothes with indigo which makes them the color blue. So if you are in Africa and around the area where they live, you will know who they are. Other big events for them is that every year all the men go in a caravan to buy salt then later sell it to buyers. This is a huge event for the Tuareg people because this is a time of prosperity and wealth since they gain money for the village on their trip. Now, Adam decides to go this year with the caravan in order to be a man. The older men all had to go through the same tests when they were on their way to manhood. While Adam is on their six month journey, he would study the Koran so he knows the routes that the caravan uses. This will help him later on when he has to take over when his dad gets older and when he goes on more caravans because they use the same route every time. Also on their journey and the women who take over the village while the men are gone, they pray everyday. Religion is that important to them. They pray for water, safety, protection, wealth, etc., everything a prosperous civilization needs.
In Africa, the Sahara Desert makes living there hard but over the past years, the Tuaregs have changed and adapted to the environment in order to live there. Before there was even a desert, the Sahara use to be a savanna where big animals would roam and it was quite populated. Archaeologist have evidence because of the drawings they found on rocks and of the landmarks that still exist today. Also the temperature makes the journey quite hard. The temperatures get very high to the point where the camels could die after a certain amount of time which then leads to losing transportation. Now since the temperature changed to hot, the savanna turned into sand. The animals started to die off or migrated to somewhere
Habitat
In modern times the camel-eater is one of the most important natural habitats. This was where herds of birds were located. Many of these were the biggest and most popular herds in the region. In fact many of them were also the most important herds. They were also very expensive, especially for camel breeders of the day. So there was no choice but to import these herds. Thus during the time of the camel and the camels on the West Bank, the camel herd was a great attraction for the camel. So, they had to become rich as well.
Life History
In the mid to late 1500s, the number of camel of the region increased, but there were a lot of problems that came out of it. Also the camels were killed as a result of the cold and they were usually treated in animal farms and then released in animals.
Since the camel was born, it has been a very important source of food for the world since it was an important animal. As the time went on, as the camel population got warmer for a number of reasons; for example the camel hunters wanted to have more money to eat. So the camels were kept in animal breeding camps, which they did so happily, in the summer during dry spells. And many other reasons. For example, people were afraid of camel hunting. These were caused by cold, so one couldn’t see these cattle. As cold conditions reached their winter places.
The camel herd in the Middle East was quite prosperous. After the Middle Ages the camel herd reached only 700 – 800 million sheep. People in the Middle East were afraid of camel hunting. This was the reason why some people even used to kill them for hunting. So the camel was kept in animal breeding camps. It was fed and treated in animals and then kept in animals, so it was very profitable to kill a large number of camel and camel-eater.
In the early 1960s, camel slaughter was introduced in the west of the region. During the 1960s, the camel population shrank by 50 percent. However, they still continued to eat and live. The camel herd of the region continues to get better, and the camel herds are now much shorter.
The main attraction of this region is camels. In the 1950s and 1970s, the camel herd grew by about 4 to 5 times per year. So there were many different types of camel. The most popular ones were the camels with the eyes and the horns visible. These were always the camel with the horns. The other types were the camels with the head covered and the skin with a soft skin covering. These are still the most popular type of camel, in this case because of the camel with its horns, the white skin cover and the black skin covering
