Dell War and Conflict Revolution
Essay title: Dell War and Conflict Revolution
War and Conflict
There are various factors that contribute to the stem of war and conflict. With the shit of interstate to intrastate and the capacity of non-state actors of mega-violence modern militaries have rebuild their capacities to adapt to the formation of new threats. Some examples are non-state radicals, traditional criminal elements, and rouge states that are characterized by asymmetric warfare in this new era of conflict. Dell has created a theory of conflict prevention. As military and police forces look to employ a whole spectrum of technological solutions, Dell’s role of a corporation acts as a link between two countries that are both part of a major global supply chain. The Dell Theory stipulates that as long as countries are part of the same global supply chain those countries will never fight a war against each other (Friedman, Thomas).

Large corporations such as Dell form economic interdependence between nations in multiple global locations there is a reluctance of developing nations to give up their newfound wealth. From the book The Lexus and the Oliver Tree, Thomas Friedman observed that no two nations with a McDonald’s franchise had ever gone to war with one another, which was known as the Golden Arches Theory. Dell Theory of Conflict Prevention not only increased a better standard of living but also created a more enriched labor sector through globalization. Developing nations do not want to risk the loss of multi-national companies who venture into their markets and include them in the global supply chain. Although there are no absolutes, war is still possible, but economic globalization acts as a powerful deterrent. There are high risks and consequence when identified as an unstable country and having investment dollars withdrawn and relocated.

Recently the US Army Contracted Dell to deliver desktops and notebooks for the next three years. The Army’s Desktop Mobile Computing (ADMC-2) contract has a purchasing ceiling of $5 billion and options to extend contract to 10 years. Vice president of Dell federal Business segment, Troy West said, “Because our long history and direct relationship with the U.S. Army, we have a thorough understanding of its technology requirements, both domestically and abroad, and are uniquely positioned to support the Army’s global needs.” Dell collaborates with other US agencies such as the US Air Force and the US Navy. In an age of constant conflict the challenge today is being able to manage information.
