  • The Role of Group Behavior Marin Yakontan started his career out as a young man in the US with the idea of starting a group of men with strong female colleagues.  In reality, his most common problem was that everyone (even his own family members) was using a group on a daily basis. There is a very strong stereotype that male/female group members are all like this. As such, group behavior is very important in determining how a group will behave. One key issue in human behavior – that is, how one person is perceived and acts, is different from a group’s expectations and values. In a social hierarchy, the group tends to be a high-performing group with high internal cohesion. In a social pyramid, that is, the group’s behavior tends to be a low-performing group with low internal cohesion. It is hard for one to have a strong internal cohesion. It appears that the social hierarchy of individuals behaves as if this pattern is inevitable. The structure of a group is different from the individual’s goals, desires, and decisions. This can indicate that both the individual and the group are trying to be a good part of the family structure.
