Data Analysis      A data analysis is used to analyze or obtain useful and usable information. When analyzing the data you will decide whether the data is quantitative or qualitative. In this research, we use the data collected in the process of a child reunified with one biological parent and other variables at hand. Children were assigned to regular foster care groups, and then the biological parent was informed about the research being done. The data was collected along the way, using the questions and various issues that arise when reunification occurs. Eventually, the child is put back in the home with the parent, and the outcome of the data shows the difference in whether the success rate was increased or decreased. When collecting the information, there were a lot of specifics that played a part. The child’s environment, how the parent and child utilize services, and characteristics of both child and parent all were examined in this study. This information is important when trying to collected data to find out the outcome of the study. When the data is all collected, it makes the analyzing process much easier to complete.

When the data was analyzed, the one way ANOVA, two-tailed T-tests, and chi-square tests were used, “due to small sample, more complex multivariate data analyzes and model testing was not possible,” (Miller, 2006). This made the statistical findings of accurate results, lower than 100%. If the sample size and groups were bigger, other models could have been used. Descriptive Statistics      Descriptive statistic is known as the simple summary about the sample and the observation that’s been made. You can use the inferential statistics to learn the descriptive statistics. We notice in this study one of the descriptive statistics was a result of, how long the child stayed within the biological parent’s home. This is used to describe the data that’s been collected. “Of the 16 reunifications examined in this study, 5 failed (the children having spent an average of 7.3 months in their biological home, range=2.3 -12.7months),” (Miller, 2006). When breaking down the data and describing the results, it makes it easier to decide the statistical stand point of this research. The inferential statistics help distinguish these descriptive results.
