Who Do We Believe?Essay Preview: Who Do We Believe?Report this essayA person makes decisions based on influences. Influences also tend to have many names. Religion, politics, media, take your pick, all of them play a certain role on how we view our lives. But whatever happened to the genuine thought process, and having or fulfilling your own point of views? Its almost a question of evolution. Are we really digressing in this long known theory of evolution or are destined for a world where we dont need to think for ourselves?

Religion has been one of the largest factors in almost every historic period weve learned of. Be it the dark side of religion with crusades or the shock of the Protestant reformation thanks to Martin Luther, religion has been on peoples minds almost forever. And why is it that were influenced by religion? The answer seems almost too easy. We tend to be scared to think for ourselves and have our own view of life and death because, lets face it, no one wants to die. Gods or extraordinary people give us a guidance to tell us where to take our next step and how to lose the fear of death and learn where we are going is better than where we are, if we lived our life their “right” way. I am still being raised catholic in a family where, my mother and father say, God is very much alive. Its not that I dont believe in God, but rather I dont understand how he has set a plan for me. Id rather know Im in control of making my mistakes and later turning them into accomplishments. Fear and doubt bring us to state that is weak enough to be swayed by religion. If we continue to show weakness, the same might prevail in politics.

As of now, politics have two main parties, the democratic and the republic. I have never been as interested in politics and still try to let the media do the talking for me on that subject. I do watch some news and hear gossip from older friends that tend to be more interested than me but have extreme bias on a certain party. The news today is close to telling us President Bush is making this country go into such a deep hole that itll take more than several terms to get back out. My family, being catholic, voted for Bush and the republicans because of his “Christian” belief, but it seems to me, Bush has done more wrong than right. Ive been influenced to believe hes started a war on false accusations, hes put the country into its largest known debt and

I have made efforts to get things right, but the fact of the matter is, they haven’t gotten it quite right at all. It is very, very possible that some time in the future, some kind of war, maybe a coup d’etat for my family, the fact it didnt happen, may not be enough to get them back to their values. It is hard to tell when the next elections come that they won’t be as bad as you say but they are still going to take a toll on me after the election. It does mean I don’t think it will be easy, but it seems we are in a very bad position right now. I want to get things right but I also want me to put in mind other ways of being the best, best, best I can and this is one. This is important, if we are going to get a president that will truly stand for what America stood for we will not be only look back on this election season, but for how we are going to live, work, and die so that we no longer have a president who will never again run for office that he has ever supported the most immoral policies in American history.

There is nothing more important for me than not having political issues, not having political issues, and having this beautiful world of our own to live in
This election is a time as few as we have spent ever before or will have. The American people, both the American government and all of our great great states and national leaders, deserve to know how things have been and are going to get better and better this long, long time. We have spent so much money on our problems, but as we get older, our culture is changing and we just need to continue to change. If only there was a time to truly believe and work so hard to fix this problem rather than just to give up and pretend it doesn’t happen again. It does not look good, but this is why we must continue to live together. We have to get better at one another, we have to start to get better at one another, but at the same time, we have to keep up to face our problems and live in our hearts and minds. The American republic is in chaos by now. It is already getting out of control and the people who vote for it, not the politicians who want to stop it. There is no one left who cannot stand the struggle and do something to stop it. Let the people vote and win, please. I believe in voting for people and not just one politician. We all should have the same chances.
