Promoting No-Dad Families, is an article written by John Leo, expressing his concerns about the American sperm market. In the article he discussed many concerns about the situation that The United States has gotten itself into with its relaxed laws concerning the sale of sperm to single women. The laws a re virtually non existent, and any single women can purchase sperm.
In the article, Leo states that the U.S. has the loosest laws surrounding the purchase of sperm by single females of any country and believes that this will lead to serious issues in the future. He believes that the children being raised in these fatherless families will have lacked a serious cultural socialization from growing up without a father figure.
In other countries around the world, purchasing sperm as a single female is either banned or made nearly impossible. However, in the U.S. the issue has never really been addressed, or has been addressed in an extremely, “rights” conscious manner. Leo argues that a change is in order now, before we have to face the consequence in later years of this decision.
