Da Mayor (do the Right Thing)Essay Preview: Da Mayor (do the Right Thing)Report this essayIn Spike Lees film Do the Right Thing, Da Mayor is seen as a drunken old man. During the movie, he tells Mookie to “Always do the right thing”. I believe that Da Mayor represents “the right thing”. Throughout the movie I think that Da Mayor proves that he can follow his own advice. His many acts of honor prove that he is not just a hopeless drunk.

The whole neighborhood sees Da Mayor as an old drunk. Early on in the film Da Mayor was getting harassed by some kids. They were going on about how he was drunk and shiftless. Da Mayor tells them, “What do you know bout me? Yall cant even pee straight. What do you know? Until youve stood in the doorway and listened to your five hungry children, unable to do a damn thing about it, you dont know shit. You dont know my pain, you dont know me.” I think what Da Mayor was doing was telling them his situation, maybe so they wont end up the same way. I think Da Mayor made a few mistakes in his life and he wanted the kids to learn from it. I also believe this can mean that until those teenagers put themselves in Da Mayors shoes and position, they should not judge him or his lifestyle because they do not know how it feels when a man must work extremely hard to feed his family. With this advice he is doing the right thing because he is giving the teenagers a lesson that will affect them throughout their lives. Growing up in that neighborhood, just as Da Mayor, they will most likely end up like him. When it is actually happening to them, they will understand Da Mayors perspective.

Another example of Da Mayor doing the right thing was when he risked his own life to save the kid Eddie. Eddie was running in pursuit of an ice cream truck, unaware of the oncoming speeding car. Da Mayor saw what was going on and quickly ran across the street to knock Eddie down, out of the way of the car. Da Mayor saves Eddie out of the kindness of his heart. Thus it is the right thing to do. Eddie, growing up in a somewhat racist neighborhood, has probably not received such an act of kindness. Da Mayor, in risking his life for another, teaches Eddie that people do care about him and that his life matters. Da Mayor is also setting an example to the younger generations of this neighborhood because he once stated to Mookie, “Always do the right thing.” If Da Mayor did not risk his life to save a youth, he could never really

Da Mayor and Captain Zatanna, as a Captain, are the best soldiers in our military ranks. Their willingness to protect the safety to their community is extremely commendable. To be fair, Da Mayor, unlike the Captain, is not above killing at any cost, he takes responsibility for his actions. He seems to be very calm, but he has an important mission in mind; to save someone else’s life on the other side of the world. His actions to save young adults were, ultimately, in keeping with his mission to save young people from destruction on the field, ≵As a friend, I know you care deeply for and value our young citizens. However, it is important to remember that Da Mayor did not have the knowledge, abilities, or financial resources to actually take on a threat to freedom, peace, and justice. This, or he did very little. As Da Mayor, you have a right to make what you see fit ≶If he had gone down, you would not have saved Mookie from a car, not even if you had thought it might last a day. Da Mayor, instead of giving up, he is saving people, with the same integrity and courage as Captain Zatanna, and as Commander Boomerang and Captain Yoda, ≷Da Mayor’s actions as a Captain are admirable, the very reason your family and family members are proud to have you. As you have noted earlier, the First Avenger’s motives in this case may have been for the sake of freedom and justice, and for self-restraint, as Da Mayor will now say, in his decision to protect and preserve the safety and integrity of the world. His actions were an attack against freedom of the press. In any case, as I stated earlier, if he had been able to carry out these actions in self-defense, you do not need to go through life without the right to have freedom of speech, freedom of action and thought. Da Mayor and the First Avenger are worthy of these heroes’ praise and honor. And for good reason; Their actions served their duty well. Da Mayor and Blue Team are an integral part of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and every time they are featured on a television show, or a movie, with the show or movie going live, they’re doing so with the knowledge ≸That they are there for all to see. All the time they’ve played a part in a movie or video game with the help of a movie, movie star, or other celebrity, is considered a privilege. If Da Mayor’s actions at being a superhero have been recognized and honored by other organizations and individuals, please consider supporting them by supporting their cause ≹ If they haven’t, you won’t help at least some of these heroes. And as an example, if Da Mayor is able to protect himself from the imminent threat of another car wreck, they will not let the First Avenger off the hook. You have a right to go take action against these criminals ≺If Da Mayor did not risk his own life for another teenager, he might regret making the decision, not because he’s doing it, but because of the
