The stages of the transition curve are status quo, disruption, exploration and rebuilding. The company that I am familiar with is Panera. They are a fast food restaurant that has been growing quickly. They had a strong early growth and then saw that they were experiencing a high cost of employment. There have been many different approaches with scheduling that were implemented that didn’t really work well. The reality is that there is a level of innovative progress that is being utilized to make sure that new technologies are being used to make the dining experience much better. The aspect of technological advancements are thought of being solutions for many different problems. What is evident is that there is a push by Panera to reduce the personnel that they have.

Panera is one of the largest fast food dining establishments in the United States. It is clear that “has been implementing a series of structural enhancements to improve our competitive position and expand growth opportunities”(Panera, 2015). This is a critical type of expansion that will continue to influence the gains that are made. There needs to be a level of consideration pertaining to the overall strategy and what evolutionary processes will cause there to be a major level of gains being made.

Another problem that the company had was long wait lines. This was something that caused customers to leave because they were not able to get the food that they wanted in a reasonable time. When there are lines people tend to walk out. The reality is that there was a need to remedy all the problems that are there with technology. The company began with doing mobile orders through their application. This was something that was able to be done in such a way to allow for there to be progress in ordering and cut down the need for so many people to be on registers.

The application worked so well that there was a desire by the company to help automate the ordering process in the store. This was done by taking the opportunity to really work the technology out there in a way to automate the in store ordering process. This has been done through touch screens and with a desire to help automate orders with having many touchpads around that allow for there to be a sense of fulfillment with ordering that is smoother. This was costly initially. Over time it has cut down the need for as many employees opening up the potential to have the systems pay for themselves and increase customer retention. This is such a critical aspect of ensuring a smooth ordering experience that it has caused the change in the company to be a bit traumatic, but has influenced the gains that have been able to be made.

Watching what has happened with the store has been something that has been influential in the way that the business anticipates growing. The progress seems to be geared to less employees and more automation to increase profits. This is causing there to be a shift in how the systems in the store are being utilized. When I worked in this company there were many issues with employees fighting or getting into arguments with each other. There was a small pay and high tension environment that really made it a bit hostile at times. The reality is that the machines takes orders now will cut down the staff to make it a bit more manageable to keep the store a happier place. I would like
