Think about it. How important is thinking? Americans spend all of their day thinking and mis-thinking of multiple decisions and ideas. Thinking is a very important process of how our thoughts, when transferred verbally or written on paper, can produce a clearer understanding of our views. The nature of logic as it relates to critical thinking, and my perceptual process have been influenced through sources of enculturation. In order to really understand this we must first define not only logic and the nature of logic, but also critical thinking. Logic is the study of methods and principles used in distinguishing correct from incorrect reasoning. Critical thinking is when you view a situation in multiple ways to eventually come up with one outcome.

The critical thinking process is a very interesting process and needs to be broken down in order to really understand it. Critical thinking consists of a mental process of analyzing or evaluating information, particularly statements or propositions that people have offered as true. It forms a process of reflecting upon the meaning of statements, examining the offered evidence and reasoning, and forming judgments about the facts. Critical thinkers can gather such information from observation, experience, reasoning, and/or communication. Critical thinking has its basis in intellectual values that go beyond subject-matter divisions and which include: clarity, accuracy, precision, evidence, thoroughness and fairness. Critical thinking is very important, as it allows information received to be evaluated, decreasing the risk of acting on a false premise. The loss of this faculty through injury, intoxication, denial or subversion can lead to a greater risk of one making a fatal error. However, even with the use of critical thinking, mistakes can happen due to the thinker not being in possession of the full facts. Plus there is always the possibility of Human error. The process of critical thinking responds to many subjects and situations, finding connections between them. It forms, therefore, a system of related modes of thought that cut across fields like science, mathematics, engineering, history, anthropology, economics, moral reasoning and philosophy.

I can remember a time where what I thought was realistic and the truth, really wasn’t and I had to learn the actual reality the hard way. It was my freshman year of high school and I was so excited. I had attended private school my whole life and I was now starting high school at a public school, so I was very excited to meet new people and experience new things. At that time, I was also just developing into “woman-hood”, so I had a tiny dorky-looking demeanor, but I didn’t think that I would get ridiculed because I had seen worse. Well, some of the popular girls had seemed to befriended me and I was a lttle shocked, because they were so popular and pretty and everyone adored them. It just made me ask myself, “why me?” But at the end of the day, I wasn’t complaining. They started giving me tips about what clothes to wear and how to apply make-up and hw to get a guy to like you. At first, I thought some of the advice that they were telling me was a little ridiculous, but I didn’t object to anything
