The Carnival Splenda is a very unique vessel. It may be the only ship that has been built with it’s full power in place right now, because no one ever had a “superpower” for the time being. This engine room is just a few hundred feet aft from the waterline and it could be easily used as an additional generator for this engine room. It has almost no other kind of energy. The only source of electricity is the water. This means that no steam can be produced.

I’ll share some of the work in advance with you. As with all ships, we plan to work the entire day and weekends in order to do our thing. However, as always, my schedule is flexible so check back often.

Critical Issues:Almost 4,500 people are stranded on Splendor that is 200 miles south of San Diego with no electrical power.We must determine a means to tow the ship safely back to port. Guest safety must be the upmost importance.This is important in demonstrating our Mission and Vision Statements. We are committed to them at all times.Passengers and crew members are experiencing challenging conditions.Food, water, sanitation and other living necessities are severely limited.According to SCCT, priority should be protecting them from further harm and helping them cope with the psychological stress of the situation.
