Nirvana
Nestled in the back of Colony Park Apartments south of the MSU campus is a special apartment in Block 21. The block has the appearance of a well worn wooden building that has braved arctic winters and sweltering summers. Along the cream paint peeling walls holds the red portal which leads one to a very chilled and mellow atmosphere. Welcome to Nirvana, a state of liberation of the soul from the effects of karma and from bodily existence.

Crossing the threshold one is bombarded by a thick cloud of smoke, filling your lungs with the smell of stale cigarettes and the highest grade of marijuana a college student can buy in Wichita Falls. As the fog clears a red, green and gold poster of the legendary Bob Marley comes into view being the focal point of the room. Adorning this area of plain cream walls and dingy beige carpet is a few mismatched and well-worn pieces of furniture, creating an atmosphere of a well lived-in space.

Upon entering the bedroom, one notices that the dull cream walls are covered in posters depicting sexual innuendos, Bob Marley and marijuana. Pushed up against the northern wall is a huge black and gray computer desk which also serves the purpose of an entertainment centre. Occupying this desk is a random collection of stuff ranging from an alarm clock to a bong; however, the computer and flat screen tv take up majority of the space. Moving in westernly direction one comes across a black, well-stocked mini-fridge, also serving as shelf for an assortment of Xbox video games, controllers and a litter of random papers. A window, which is never opened, is curtained by thick gold drapes that keeps all natural light at bay. A few inches away from the window is a black light which
