MAIN ISSUESThe most important factor through which a hotel actually runs is making profits. Courthouse hotel is trying hard to achieve their margin of profit, which is going down due to the opening of three new national and international properties.The courthouse hotel is currently rated as a three star hotel; hence the range of the prices offered is kept very moderate as a consequence to which it provides a very mediocre level of service.Courthouse hotel indeed has one common functional room but no banquet halls.For any standardise hotel, room service and porter are an important facilities but courthouse hotel is lacking these facilities.Staffing is one of the major issues. Only 5% of the employees are working part time rest all 95% of the workers work full time.Shift timings for the employees are very disturbed and the workers are only willing to report either for early or late shift. The employees are made to work for one weekend every month.According to Thomas-Shah (2012) the abilities and skills which are required to communicate properly are known as interpersonal skills. The employees of the Courthouse hotel seem to have a deficit amount of those skills.SUPERVISORY SKILLSSupervisory Skill Mix-Mann (1965) suggested a theory on the basis of which, it has been classified the skills of a supervisor into three major categories, which is known as Supervisory Skills Mix. The three subdivisions of this mix are Technical, Human and Managerial.Technical Skills-According to Mann (1965 cited in Alfonzo, Firth and Neville 1984) technical skills means knowing particular information needed to perform the essential job in the supervisory positions. It is important for the Supervisors to possess the technical skills because one must possess the knowledge in order to teach others.Human Skills-As per Mann (1965 cited in Alfonzo Et al 1984) human skill is the ability to work with individuals and persuade them so they will seek great execution. Staff working in the courthouse hotel is undertrained hence the supervisor should have human skills so that one can work effectively.Managerial skills-Mann (1965 cited in Alfonzo Et al 1984) suggests the ability to settle for choices and see connections that are essential for an organization is crucial. The supervisor should possess the ability to make choices which are beneficial for the hotel.Growth Supportive- According to Pierce and Rowell (2006) a developed employee only contributes towards the benefits of the company. In courthouse hotel the focus on the employee development area is not present; hence the supervisor should support the growth of the staff.Mentoring-As per Bird (2001) mentors are the people who are ready to share the experience and skill acquired. The supervisors must possess the mentoring factor as well as the ability to share the knowledge while supervising.MOTIVATIONAL TECHNIQUES According to Elliot and Covington (2001) Motivation can be characterized as one’s course to one’s behaviours in a particular manner.The condition of the Courthouse hotel is becoming worsening. It is a three star hotel with low costs maintained. McQuerrey (2015) suggests that expanding motivation in one’s work environment can help enhance confidence, diminish work environment stretch and raise execution.  As per Innes (2014) one of the best methods for propelling the employees is to guarantee that they comprehend and admire the goals and objectives of the firm and are backed by their supervisors and administrator.
