Nature of the Course:This course views a firm from the perspective of its top executives.  The focus is to understand how top managers determine the path they will use to guide the organization in the quest to accomplish the mission, vision, and goals that have been established.  This process is known as ‘strategic management’.  We will cover the field of strategic management and use a variety of tools to enhance our skills. We will examine both the process by which corporate strategies are determined and the general concepts of the strategic options available to top-level managers.  This material should help you understand much of the dynamics of todays business world, a world into which you will be entering shortly.    This course is designed to draw on material discussed in the various disciplines, such as marketing, accounting, or others, in the College of Business. We do not spend a great deal of time discussing the specifics of these areas, however, the course assumes you have a sound, basic working knowledge and understanding of them.Course ObjectivesAt the end of this course, a student should be able to:  1.
