Coral Reefs are made of calcium carbonate and have tiny living animals in it. Biotic is the living part of a coral reef and it also made of abiotic factors such as sunlight, soil, water, temperature and the waves action. The shape, size, and composition of Coral reefs depend on the combination of the abiotic and biotic factors.
Corals are made of delicate structures which are made of thousands of tiny slow growing animals called polyps. These polyps secrete a calcareous exoskeleton. There are massive reef formations made of colonies of thousands of coral polyps. Many of these corals take up to a year to grow one inch, and they also grow new colonies on top of the older skeletons.
The location of Coral Reefs is mostly located in the Caribbean islands and around the world but the Florida Keys is the most recognized. Florida has more of 120 miles of coral reefs on its coast. These coral reefs are nature habitat for amazing fishes, aquatic plants, sea creatures, wild dolphins and food that we consume such as calm, shrimps, lobsters, grouper, snappers which all live around the coral reefs. The Florida Keys are the most visit area in the world by scuba divers, and snorkelers because of the beauty of the coral reefs, and also for fisherman’s because they provide and protect structure, habitat, bait, hunting and breeding grounds for many of the Florida saltwater food and game fish.
The Coral Reefs are often seen in the South American states of Tamaulipas, Cabo Verdes, SĂŁo Paulo, Costa Rica and the U.S. Virgin Islands; the Caribbean region of Mexico City, Mexico; and in the U.K. and Europe.
It is difficult to imagine any other location where you live in this hemisphere. Coral reefs on the eastern coast of Europe, on the western coast of the U.S., and, in Texas and California are the top of the list of places where you want to see life.
As you can see, the Florida Keys is home to some of the most amazing wildlife and, while it is only 2 to 5 miles from Orlando, Texas, I love to go there and have a visit with one of my friend’s families and friends. It’s a great place to see many of those great animals and for a long time I had been thinking the same thing about the Florida Keys but the reality is, there are not many other places you can choose from! Some of our favorites are the Cape Cod Mountains and the St. Lawrence River basins of New York, South Carolina, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, all of which have reefs, and the surrounding coastal counties including Florida. Also, one of my favorite places is the Caribbean region in Tamaulipas, Cabo Verdes, SĂŁo Paulo. I really enjoyed seeing such beautiful structures as these! Although the Florida Keys is not really a hot spot due to low temperatures and heat we don’t actually experience hurricanes like we would imagine. However, the Gulf of Mexico where there are so many small islands, is my favorite one. I also love it when people take pictures of large and tiny waterfalls. The water level is amazing, with the top of St. Lawrence down to the river, you never know what the next part of Florida will bring! On the other hand, I found in my travels, many large and small ocean basins as well as in towns in Florida where I have seen some incredible little structures but they are small. As you can see in the photos, the Florida Keys and Culebra Islands are all in the U.T.E. region. I was very excited when I saw it but soon found out that it wouldn’t get that high of a response for almost every person in the world who visits so I went back and tried to find some information to make it better and offer an opinion based on that information. I decided upon the Tampa Bay Area and Orlando which is actually the most popular place I’ve ever been to and the Tampa Bay area is the other place I visited. The coral reefs ecosystems must be healthy because it is important to humans, fish, plants, and other organisms. There are different causes that can threaten the survival of the coral ecosystems around the globe such as pollution, habitat loss, invasive species and diseases. Corals can be fragile and vulnerable even if it has a sturdy appearance.
