Four Functions Of ManagementEssay Preview: Four Functions Of ManagementReport this essayAny organization, whether new or old, whether small or big need to run smoothly and achieve the goals and objectives which it has set forth. There are basically four management concepts that allow any organization to handle the tactical, planned and set decisions. The four basic functions of management are just to have a controlled plan over the preventive measure. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the four functions of management; which are planning, organizing, leading, controlling and how each of these functions relates to my current organization.

Planning is the process that management uses to accomplish the objectives of a business. The most common objective is to make money and planning defines how to get there. Examples would be what kind of business, or whether to expand to other products or concentrate on a narrower field, to grow by acquisitions or not to grow, to assist employees to further their career goals, to be socially or environmentally conscious, to have multiple locations or not. As a manager in my organization, I have used planning in multiple ways. One way in particular stands out regarding employee performance. Patrick is a very competent employee who does not have performance issues

that are in need correction. Active planning for Patrick will help him in my role as supervisor, so that goals can be set for him to achieve a supervisory position.

Organization is the process of deciding on the internal structure. The plans would include how to divide the work between managers by function; how to coordinate between departments; how to control each division of work, and what kind of people are needed at each level. Staffing is an important element including recruiting, hiring and training of people whose positions were defined in the organizational structure. It requires decisions about prior experience, compensation, benefits, evaluation and delegation. Once a year our organization is hectic as we are buzzing around trying to complete our department budgets. For this year in particular, I need to purchase some very expensive equipment that is going to help the employees perform better; which is also an asset to the organization as a whole. The safety deposit boxes will increase our profit module after some time. In organizing, I am preparing resources to do such a task as I am an important part of this company and I would like for all to benefit.

Leading is implementation of the how to reach the desired goals by influencing behavior through motivation, communication and discipline. It is a two-way street when managers help other employees to accomplish their own career goals. Leaders and managers alike who communicate clearly, consistently and credibly benefit from lower turnover; lower absenteeism; fewer grievances; and better coordination both inside and outside the organization. During times of uncertainty, interpersonal risk managers articulate a clear vision of the companys future, including the benefits of change to the bottom line. By creating recognizable milestones for their employees to track, they replace fear with optimism. Interpersonal

Achievement is becoming more difficult to achieve and the people’s self-esteem wanes. The goal of personal effort is diminishing. The goal of personal motivation is diminishing, the goal of personal performance improves and the goal of personal happiness decreases. This has been associated with a decrease in performance. The goal of a successful performance improvement can be achieved by providing people with better conditions for achieving their desired goal. Organizations that strive for a more sustainable way of managing the problem that would make it more difficult to succeed should develop, for example, a leadership and communication system that could focus on improving leadership by making it easier for employees to understand and to implement change. There is a very good reason why we need this system, as we need, more than just one person in our organization. Instead, we need a greater number of individual leaders, who will help with management’s own goals and actions. It is important to have a successful program that has led the growth of the team, and it is important that a team continues to grow and has greater success on the part of its members.

An important lesson found in all of these discussions is that individual goals should not be a choice. You must have the ability to have a goal. When individuals believe the goal of their organization exceeds the need, they cannot maintain success. They cannot achieve their goals if they do not have the ability to meet the required level of self-perception. Those with the capacity are the ones most likely to achieve their goals.

The success story

To start in 2004 our program began to grow with about 50 employees from four continents. It would continue to grow, and each year an employee came up with a new idea, an idea that had to be developed and implemented on its own. It took the management of our program to start making these discoveries. We did not know how long that would be. We were already developing it for a very long time without ever realizing the benefits.

In 2010 we set out on a successful growth plan. We took care of the financial and logistical issues first which were to take some years. We built and launched our first office and business. On top of the program we moved a number of projects out of the program.

Within that year we realized that the time it took us to complete this project wasn’t going to be comparable to what it would have cost for us all to get to that point. After going through all of our initial development it became clear that the plan could not deliver. We realized that an effective company is needed regardless of how much money it generates. A successful business is a business that needs to have a sense of urgency to get there.

We realized that our first goal of the company was to create a more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly workplace which we could use in an efficient and sustainable manner.

Our success is not measured in the dollars, but in what we accomplish. The
