Mrs. Sims briefly touched on the topic of present day organizations and referenced to Handys Inverted Donut, from Inside Organizations: 21 Ideas for Managers by Handy. The inverted donut is a conceptual theory believing that workers have an endless space for creativity and responsibilities. Another theory Mrs. Sims mentioned was the Theories of Motivation and Maslows Hierarchy of Needs. The hierarchy of needs diagram showed that the self-actualization need is at the peak of the 5 needs. The theories of organizational culture and how culture effects an organization were covered. Culture can effect organizations in positive or negative ways.
