The brackets are bulky and heavy and will require a lot of space, production time, and extra machinery to move them from the production area to the final storage point (Maimon et al, 1998).The production process will include the following stages:Preparation StageAt this stage, the production engineer shares the bracket design with the production team. The team members then align themselves in their respective positions after collecting the required materials and placing them in their specific areas for the commencement of the production process.Sample Development StageUpon completion of the mise en place, the actual production of the first sample takes place. It is this first sample that acts as a guide on the preceding work. It helps in identifying the nitty gritty of the missing details and the required adjustments.
Mass Production StageUpon confirmation of the sample, mass production of the brackets begins. The production team sticks to their daily targets. Setting a daily target helps the department to analyze its performance and make improvements where necessary.Storage StageThere are two types of storages. The first storage is for materials and the second storage is for the manufactured products. Both storages require tight control measures to eliminate all the possibilities of losses. At this stage, the manufactured brackets are taken to the storage facility where they are safely kept awaiting collection.Dispatch StageAt this stage, the completed products are sorted in the order of their issuance (for example first-in fist-out or last-in first-out). They can either be collected by the clients or delivered to them by the company. This stage needs serious control measures. The control measures put in place should be tight enough to eliminate losses by all means.Summary For efficient, effective, and economical operations at the JMC, it is essential for the production department to integrate the production planning and control system. The planning and control systems follow the adaption of product designs and finalization of production processes (Greasley, 2008).
