Technology in today’s society is a much needed tool. It affects both the work and the leisure world. Technology influences the minds in a positive and negative way. Technology, is now beginning to be disrupted and is affecting the minds of the younger generation in so many ways. Technology has become the driving force of the future, it is changing lives and advancing our future rapidly. Technology has a major impact in all of our lives today.
The form of technology that I have chosen to present on is communication technology. Communication technology has it’s advantage and disadvantage to the society. I found that the advantages of communication technology has gotten broader in times. It first stated off as to give people around the world the capability to communicate with each other, and love ones around the world, but as the technology advanced the communication capability advanced as well, know with this technology we are able to do many things like share pictures, videos and etc. We are even able to search and find and connect with people that we wouldn’t have been able to do, if it wasn’t from this type of technology. The example of communication technology is We Chat and Skype just to name a few. We Chat and Skype help people communicate to other through text or face-to-face.
We Chat was invented by Xialong Z Hang and naed by Ma Huateng. We Chat is a mobile text communication services developed in China. It was first released in 2011. We Chat gives you a lot of features text messaging, voice messaging, sharing of pictures and videos.
Skype was founded in 2013 by Jarius Friis, from Denmak, and Niklas Zennstorm, from Sweden. The first public version was released in August 2003. Skype is a
Telecommunication application that specialize in providing video chat and voice call from tablets, computers, and mobile devices. There have been several other communication types invented as well, but there are so many, so I chose to focus on the first two to come out.
Communication technology has become a huge impact on the personal life. It can be advantages and disadvantages. It also has an impact in the professional life as well. There are people who makes their living by selling online. This technology also helps with business, when it comes to their advertisement. Beside this, some grocery chains has gone to where you can order you grocery online to either be delivered or pickup, also banks has gone to online banking were you don’t even have to enter the bank.
Advantages of communication technology that I have found to me is the fact that there is so many tools that makes it where you don’t have to directly speak to a person. I must say say that text messaging is my favorite of them all, I think this has taken over my speaking conversation, because I have found myself doing all of my communication through this technology. I have also found this form of technology is the easiest way to stay in touch with my family. My family is constantly on me about communicating with them through text messaging. Communication technology makes your long distance communication easier. For most people this is free and you don’t have to worry about the extra fees. This is also good for business as they can set up online shopping, which allow people to by internationally. I know my mom is glad for this service, because she always shopping online.
