Nowadays, not only human being, but the entire world including animals and plants are also facing a serious problem—-Global Warming. But of course, the human being needs to takes the biggest responsibility on causing and solving this problem. Because through many scientific research has confirmed that the current warming of the Earths climate is mainly due to the human commercial and Industrial activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels and overuse of energy. Thus, greenhouse gas has been produced.
Greenhouse gas includes carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O). They have significantly increased since the beginning of the industrial development. Like common use of car, more energy use for city development
Greenhouse gases is increase, it stay along with the atmosphere and blocked the sun light. The solar energy cannot return to the space and the world be heated up.
The impacts of Global Warming are expected to be wide-ranging and costly. Temperature get higher and higher, it will lead to increasingly of snow melting and frozen ground thawing. Water level increase and climate change influence many part of the world. Climate changes intensify the drought of inland, and aggravate the flooding in coastal area. Rise of water level even will immerse the city which is located at low land, such as Shanghai and London. Casing dead and economic lost.
A majority of people knows how serious the problem is; therefore they have some solution and hope to combat the effect of the Global Warming. They are:
Energy solution:
Use renewable energy like solar energy, wind energy, nuclear energy to replace burning coal and fossil fuel for gaining electric. Therefore, less greenhouse gas would be produce in order to release the pressure of Global Warming.
New energy development, make research on the new energy which is more clean and produce less waste, in order to avoid over depend on coal and fossil fuel.
Individual solution:
Change individual life habit, use recycle bag for shopping instead of using plastic bag which is difficult to decompose by the environment . It can help to produce less pollution for the planet and more environmental friendly.
Replace your light bulbs into energy efficient bulbs. Also be wont to turn off the light and unplug the electronic devices when you are not using them, to save energy and money, also less greenhouse gas would be produce.
Recycle everything as much as you can. Newspaper, cardboard, glass, plastic, and aluminum are common things to recycle. Recycling will help reduce landfills and save trees, which help absorb many of the harmful elements that can cause global warming.
Transportation solution:
Try to use public transportation system such as bus and train for egress instead of use private vehicle, so that less carbon dioxide( greenhouse gas ) would be produce and it can relieve the Global Warming effectively.
Government solution:
Tell public to care about Global Warming. Raise awareness to others about the impact of it. Show others that they can participate in to help, and serve as an example for others to follow.
Set some law that is controlling the emission of greenhouse gas. Like in Hong Kong, there are already set out some law which is specializing on the gas control of the industry. Hope to reduce energy waste and greenhouse gas from it. Also in many countries like Japan, New York, Taiwan .etc have set a law on vehicle which is idling engine when it was berth aside on the road and not on the proper using. If anyone does so, they will be punished.
International solution:
Sign Kyoto protocol. The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement linked to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The major feature of the Kyoto Protocol is that it sets binding targets for 37 industrialized countries and the European community for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Copenhagen climate meeting. Governmental representatives from 170 countries are expected to be in Copenhagen in the days of the conference accompanied by other governmental representatives, journalists and others. In total 8000 people are expected to Copenhagen in the days of the climate meeting to discuss the climate change and the future plan of Global Warming.
Mutual monitoring. Among the countries, they can have discussion and set finitude to confine the emission of the greenhouse gas and pollution. Then have an international cooperation that monitor of the others to see whether anyone has contravened. Like America always
