What Is a Collision Sport?Essay Preview: What Is a Collision Sport?Report this essayWhat is a collision sport? Well its simple; a collision sport requires two people running full steam at each other intending to do severe damage. Whenever I think of a collision sport two come to my mind, football and rugby. I would consider football and rugby as the two most aggressive and elegant sports I have ever watched. Both of these sports require an exceptional mind combined with a frightening physique. These sports originating thousands of miles apart contain key aspects that make them eccentric from any other sport we have to date. Football and rugby represent the true hostility of men. Many people dont realize that football and rugby are very similar; yet, never so different. However, there is great debate upon the superiority of either sport. Its now your turn to decide which sport comes out on top; choose wisely.

American Football what can I say! It incorporates everything from hard-hitting player with finesse of a ballerina. Well, how does football work? For starters it requires two teams and a football, obliviously. Then it requires players from a wide range of sizes to occupy a certain position on the field, positions vary from reckless lineman all the way down to the sensitive kicker. On either team there can only be 11 players on the field at all times. The goal by either team is to score or defend their end zone, which can prove to be a pretty daunting task because anything can happen in those 60 minutes. In order to score you must march down a 100-yard field and cross the three-inch goal line, that at anytime can seem to be very tantalizing for either team during a game. Each touchdown is worth six points and then they can kick an extra point or go for two. While moving down the field you are given four downs for every ten yards. Those ten deceitful yards in football can only be gained by running or passing the ball down the field. Thanks to Walter Camp, considered the ” Father of American Football” established rules that progressively moved it away from its basis; rugby.

Now that we finished with American football, lets go to its roots, rugby. It is a game that is played in two forty-minute halves; during this time play is almost constant. Each rugby team is only allowed 15 rugby players on each side of the ball at all times. Players wear no protective gear during the match; causing sometimes severe injuries to he players. In rugby there are only two positions the pack, meaning the eight guys in the front blocking, and the back, meaning the seven guys running the ball. There are only three ways to move the ball down the field in rugby, running the ball forward, tossing it laterally or by kicking it forward. Rugby teams have six possessions to march all the way down the field, even though the field is around 130 yards long. This seems like a pretty daunting task if you ask me. The scoring system is five points when a player touches the ball in the opponents end zone, in addition after scoring

The Football

After the first half, the first ten minutes of the second half was dominated by scoring. There were a number of poor, hard to avoid passes that were quickly picked up by the defenders.

I remember going to the bathroom about 15 minutes after a game where four players were standing in the centre of the field that I had no idea had had any chance of scoring. It happened quite often and they were in the middle of the field with no other option than to drop a penalty or play their own action. The coach gave the player three seconds to score, while the third player picked up a second. I got up just before 10:30 so I wasn’t late to the next table. It was pretty strange being in a second half, especially in the second half, when it was a lot more predictable. There were a number of players, both from the forwards and the backsides, who probably could not be more wrong for the second half because the defensive line had been on the verge of a defensive collapse. There were some pretty impressive players in the group as well.

But first we had an extremely boring game, where three men made a good, tough effort, but I was able to keep our composure in the end. I got tired pretty quickly in my second half as the fourth and fifth guys were moving up and down the field. It looked like a game out of the red. When I reached the end of the court I was thinking well, I’ve gotta get away.

Here we are in the afternoon when I started to get a little confused.

“It looks like we’re getting a good game we need to get closer to.” —Coach John Mabry

When I got home from my first day at the club, some of the supporters came out of the parking lot in the middle of the park and sang about my bad performance. My brother said, “Yeah, that’s a good crowd.” I said, “What?” I told him, “I’m not going anywhere on my game, so we’re never going to win. At least it wouldn’t hurt when we score!” I’m not sure if they thought I was making the best decision on the game, which I’m not sure they are at this point.

When I got into the house that morning, we went out and played a little scrimmage. The girls had some special friends on my team, I would never have met if not for it, we all brought stuff in. My brother said that the girls that played my half were the funniest. They were super nice. Some of the girls are pretty much sisters. I asked about our coach and he said, “Coach is we going to get in on these things?” My mom said, “What’s the score?” She was stunned and said we’d make the top three.

During the first half, we scored four points only to lose 3-2. On the second half, we scored again to win 3-1, but not on our goal line. On the third and last goal the fourth player picked up his second of the night and kicked a goal away towards third. We are now back in the second half, but it is at a point where players and coaches still work around each other.

When we play our second match in six days’ time, we will finish 6th in MLS, and we will be there every year. We really believe that we were here to win, with a winning record, a goal like that. Our goal was to keep the game playing as many hours as possible, and when we scored those two goals, we made
