Essay Three
College Tuition
As we all know college tuition can be very expensive, if not attending a community college. Why is college tuition so expensive? In my opinion it has to do with many different reasons. On-campus life, laboratories, library materials, professional professors, career counseling. Nothing is cheap or free, but when it comes to higher education it has to be expensive since it is preparing one for a bright and successful future.
College tuition can be expensive for many reasonable reasons. For those who choose, or are made to live in-campus, tuition can be expensive; students security, dorms with electricity and restrooms, etc. I believe that bigger universities charge more when it comes to their tuition because with more expensive tuition they can afford to pay better and more educated professors. As we all know there are a lot of top-students who get scholarships as well as student loans making tuition more affordable to them unlike other students who lack on intelligence skills and have to pay out-of-pocket to be able to attend an expensive university. Just like there are top-students, there are rich-students who can afford to attend expensive universities. Expensive tuition is reasonable because the money spent on higher education is not even close to the money that one will be earning once we obtain our degree. It is tough at the moment, but very worth it at the long run. Also all the fun activities that go on around campus are sometimes included in the tuition, but we do not know it since it is probably not mentioned.
Also, just like any higher level education school, laboratory fees as well as any library materials are expensive and are sometimes included in the tuition. Laboratory fees such as biology labs or computer labs can sometimes be expensive. Some of these fees are included when signing up for a class. It is reasonable to see such high raise in class price with labs because labs are used to improve skills such as laboratory skills for any science classes or computer skills for any technical class.
There is of course the need of professional professors to get us ready for the real world. Without professional professors we, as students, would get no valid or useful information and the money spent in tuition would be worthless. I, personally, love when a professor has professional skills to teach a class that I sign up for. If I was not interested in learning something then I would have never signed up for it. Therefore a professor with professional skills on the subject is very well necessary.
We can all see now that college tuition is not just about taking our money, but it is necessary to get all the school benefits and professional education we need
