Dear Faculty and Staff:
The Konosioni Senior Honor Society class of 2010 has been working diligently on multiple projects over the course of the 2009-2010 school year. We held a successful first-year Field Days in which over 250 students attended, helped facilitate the Native American Indians Festival in order to pay tribute to the roots of our own name, and played an active role in helping to make Homecoming Weekend a success. We have formed a Colgate Traditions Committee in order to gather more information about both Colgate and Konosioni, and are currently working to find ways to educate the student body on the rich history of their school. We also hosted a successful Colgate Day, aimed at bringing students together around the spirit and drive that makes Colgate so unique.

Despite all our work thus far, there remains much that needs to be done. In keeping with tradition, extensive plans are already underway for the 13th Annual Konosioni Charity Auction. As you undoubtedly know, 13 is not a number that Colgate takes lightly. We are therefore poised to make this auction the most successful ever, with a goal of raising $14,000, all of which will be donated to local charities that desperately need our support.

In order to achieve our ambitious goal, we will need the support of the Colgate community. In these times of economic hardship, it is more important than ever that the charity auction be successful, as the surrounding community is in dire need of our help. This year, we are asking for your support in making our efforts a success. First, we ask for your attendance at the auction on Friday, April 9th, 2010 at the Palace Theatre from 7-10pm. Second, we need your support in the form of donations to the auction. Examples of items donated in the past include: a gift basket filled with home-baked goods, jewelry, a dinner gift certificate to the Colgate Inn, tickets to Red Sox/Yankees games, a weekend stay at a summer home in Maine, and a round-trip plane ticket to anywhere in the continental USA. Monetary donations are also welcome. In this 13th year of the auction, I would challenge every member of the faculty to make a donation, in the form of a check or item, thats value is at least $13. Information regarding how to make a monetary donation, or donate an item, is attached.

Weve also attached a save the date that you can print out to remind you to attend the auction or donate an item. Feel free to contact us via e-mail if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you April 9th.

Sincerely,
Theodora Hofmann
