The Cold War was evident in Europe because of the Iron Curtain which split Europe into communist and democratic sides. The new governments were burdened with poverty and financial issues.The Cold War came to Asia when American military and diplomatic representatives in China recognized that a civil war could break out between governments headed by Chiang Kai-shek and the Chinese Communists led by Mao Zedong.The Cold War changed Latin Americas relationship with the United States as it transformed the area to a battleground between capitalism and communism.
