Relationship Between Men and Women
Until now, we have already read seven stories in three weeks and learned several writing factors of the fiction. Apart from these, even more attractive and important is that we found different kinds of male-female relationship in these stories. For instance, the Parent-Child in Walker’s “Everyday Use”, the Grandparent-Grandchild in Welty’s “A Worn Path”, the Courtship in Joyce’s “Araby”, and the Marriage in Maupassant’s “The Necklace”, Glaspell’s “A Jury of Her Peers” and “Trifles”, and Steinbeck’s “The Chrysanthemums”. It seems to me that the Marriage which meaning that the relationship between husbands and wives has the most promise for developing into a successful critical paper.

Nowadays, although we have a great improvement of living standards, we still have lot arguments on whether men and women should be treated equally. Indeed, it is known to all that it is problem from antiquity to the present, especially the relationship between husband and wives. When I was studying the Chinese history, I found that women seemed to be one of the least important creatures in ancient times and the old society. Also, in American history, we know that women were living in disrespect environments and lack of rights, like receiving education, working, and voting. However, in my point of view, it is no doubt that men and women are equal.

First and foremost, in order to ensure the natural balance, men and women are born to be equal. God invented men and women and gave them different physically and mentally parts but same social status. Husbands cannot discriminate against wives and their right to work, like the husband in “The Chrysanthemums.” Furthermore, the development of society will be affected if men and women are not equal in the same situation. Admittedly, men have lot of advantages than women in some career opportunities because of different physiological structure. However, women also have their
