A cheap alternative to buying soap would be to make your own soap and use used cooking oil. What most people do not know is that animal oil is what is commonly used in making soaps. So by using used cooking oil, it would make it much cheaper. These soaps are innovative gifts or a unique way to recycle. Recycling cooking oil into soap requires a few materials, a specific method, as well as creative packaging.

Making this type would take a few materials and tools. First you must gather the needed raw materials, which are fifty eight ounces of used cooking oil, one quart of cold water, ten and one fourth of pure lye crystals, and twenty three ounces of white vegetable shortening. The tools needed are rubber gloves, safety goggles, face mask, lye proof basin, a stainless steel or wooden spoon, thermometer, and a variety of plastic molds.
