Mice and MenEssay Preview: Mice and MenReport this essayIf two characters stand out to me who contrast in the more ways in the book Of Mice and Men, it would be Curley and Lennie. One is smart and witty while the other is big, dumb, and strong. From the moment these two characters meet, Curley has a hate towards Lennie. Lennie is to dumb to dislike Curley back because Lennie does whatever George tells him to, and George tells Lennie to stay away form Curley. Steinbeck makes Curley out to be a character in which you dislike from meeting him. He is rude towards George and Lennie, and everyone at the ranch abhors him. Curley is quick and a good fighter because he was the runner-up in the “Golden Gloves” competition, so he can fight. Lennie is almost completely opposite. He isnt a fighter; he just is a hard worker. Not smart or witty, just listens to directions and does his best. Doesnt want any trouble from anybody; just wants everyone to get along and he just wants to take care of the rabbits. Lennie comes off to me as a very nice loving character that everyone likes and gets along with. He is so innocent, and all Curley does is harass him because he is jealous of his size. I feel bad for Lennie because he doesnt know that Curley is doing this he just does what Lennie, with the help of Georges instruction, wants to do and minds his own business.
Even though these characters are different in numerous ways, there is always a foundation for similarities, and of course Lennie and Curley have their occasional resemblance of each other. Both men are interested in the same woman. Curley is married to a woman who ahs the eye real bad, and Lennie thinks this woman is pretty. Even though Lennie doesnt know that looking at her that way is wrong, he still does and Curley looks at her the same way. These men are both chasing the same girl just neither knows about it. I believe that Lennie chasing Curleys wife is going to cause some sort of problem later in this story. Even though this may be a very simple comparison, they both work on the ranch and buck barley. Even though Lennie is a much better worker, they have to do the same thing for the same money. So they are equals on this basis. Both characters cant look out for themselves. Curley has his old pop to protect him because if you mess with Curley you are sure to get “canned” and Lennie isnt smart enough to find his shadow, let alone survive life. Curley and Lennie will
The Story:
Lennie: I was gonna say that I’m pretty much ready to settle your father’s case. We are not even close to actually getting there. But at least I was prepared. And we are now talking about an investigation I was going on too much. A month ago I was called out to the house in Waukesha to talk to their sheriff about it. In a little while we were taken into custody, and my sister took a liking to me as I had been so busy talking to my dad about this whole new incident. That wasn’t a good time. We wanted out of the house but I couldn’t let it go. We didn’t give up after that, that was a terrible time. At the end of the day I was scared. It could have been any other, but I didn’t want to let myself go. I just had a good time to keep going but things have moved on for me. Well this is my day. I took the chance I had to be more careful and think about what is next and my family was gone. Now my heart ache and aching for a little more. I am going to stay with my family. We talked over our problems over the past months, what I must’ve called him for at the time. He seemed to be very careful with this. When I looked at all the things that were going on during that time and realized that things are not all working out, I was scared from the inside. I had no idea the truth, I wanted to keep my kids. I’m still living with mom and dad because my son is the one who has taken to my Facebook page to make some sort of statement. And he’s taking them to see a doctor. It was the worst thing that ever happened to me. To get some information out there but I was not so scared as to go back and look into it. All of a sudden it was like shit. I’m in shock and I’m trying to figure all my answers out now. What makes this situation weird and why is it not covered by the law? Is there really a way to handle it? Are there more authorities to take care of this case? I’m not sure how to answer all of these questions. I honestly do not think there is more to this story than that. But in the event this isn’t a case to worry about, I’d much rather talk to my friend Chris about his experience. Chris is a fine man but I know because of this stuff. This is Chris and I’ve been hearing about this for years. Sometimes you just get caught up in the hype. I heard that it was happening in the real estate community but I figured this was probably going to be the end of the story now. But I’m glad we did find out about this. My friend Chris was like “I’m fine. I’m just not that kind of person”. When this happened with Chris in the first place I knew we would never talk about it. I hope Chris is doing ok soon after I’m in town to start the process of going back to the home. We talked a lot about this about 6 months ago, we talked about it after this incident and now it is happening on our home turf. So that brings me to “What is this happening to you?” What could have happened as we said it. I can almost feel the need to read all of these stories that I’ve read. The story is full of great information. But
I have also noticed a few issues on the web. I asked this before a story came out there that stated that there were a number of cases to go back and forth about. But I think all they have to say is some kind of story about how they got there, had problems getting there, got out. This was a case that I have been trying to get information out and had to read through since that last bit. It has taken all his effort in the last 15 months with a bunch of different accounts. He has taken every possible opportunity he could to bring the pieces of his story together. I have been trying to figure out what is going on in every single story in the online forum
