The Parable of the Sadhu                The parable of the Sadhu is a story that a group of people are climbing the Himalayas and they run into a nearly naked Indian holy man who is nearly dead. They are forced to make the decision to sacrifice their trip or ignore the needs of a stranger. After watching the video, I fell into meditation. To be honest, this is a complex situation. In the case of the Sadhu, Buzz McCoy and his partners had to decide how much to sacrifice themselves to take care of a stranger. From my point of view, McCoy had done enough and you cannot ask him for more. If I were him, and I saw the Sadhu was dropped at my feet, I probably would do the same way as McCoy did. I would leave some food and clothes for him. Although I do not want to leave the Sadhu for the next group, I have to do that. I cannot sacrifice the team. If there is no one else, I would stay with him and try to help save him.

In that Situation, the team cannot afford an unexpected stranger. The team had no plan for dealing with the contingency of the Sadhu. They have to give up on him. I believe this is also why Buzz did not take the Sadhu to safety. If the situation is different, Buzz might take the Sadhu to safety. But it depends on what the situation is. I mean if the situation is the team probably can afford one more person or have more confident to afford one more. I believe Buzz McCoy would insist to take the Sadhu to safety and also in that situation his partners would not disagree with McCoy. Buzz McCoy is the Morgan Stanley executive, so as a senior executive in a big company. McCoy had to make many choices in his life. I think McCoy might be a well-organized person. If you want to operate a business successfully in a big company, you have to plan things well. He may also have a good ability to deal with an emergency and also has good analytical skills. All of those personalities that he has could also be an important factor that affects McCoy and let him make the decision to leave the Sadhu for the next group.
