Strategic Plan, Part I: Conceptualizing a Business
This paper will explain the strategic plan for my business “Academy Daycare Center”. By developing a strategic plan I will discuss the business mission statement and values. The guiding principles will be discussed and how the customers needs are going to be addressed. In the end I will explain how to achieve competitive advantage.

Mission
The mission statement and values provide direction for the strategic plan. These statements convey the organizations goals (B, 2012). The company mission statement has a unique purpose that sets a company apart from others of its type and identifies the scope of its operations (Pearce & Robinson, 2009). The Academy Daycare Centers mission is to provide a loving, supportive, safe and educational environment for families who need infant, toddler and preschool care for their children. It is our goal to offer a program that meets the intellectual, moral, social, emotional, and physical needs of each child.

Vision
A vision statement presents a firms strategic intent designed to focus the energies and resources of the company on achieving a desirable future (Pearce & Robinson, 2009). Our vision is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your child to grow with. This vision can be accomplished by carefully selecting the teachers or caregivers that will be dealing with the children. They will be thoroughly screened to rule out any possible problems. The building will also be secured meaning visitors will be required a pass-code to enter. All necessary safety precautions will also be taken in the design of the facility.

Values
Values are practical habits that enable us as individuals to live, be successful and achieve happiness (Pearce & Robinson, 2009). It is the goal of this daycare center to create a culturally diverse environment. In this city there are people of many different cultures needing the services provided by this business so we welcome everyone. The social responsibility involved in operating a child care facility extends to the physical and social/emotional health of a young child (Rose, 2012). A socially responsible facility respects the dignity of the child, looks out for the health and safety of the child, values the diversity that each child and family brings to the community and honors the wishes of the childs family so long as they do not compromise the health and safety of the child. (Rose, 2012)

Ethics responsibility in a daycare facility is just as important as within any organization because we are dealing with vulnerable people (children). All children and families will be appreciated by respecting their values and cultures. The daycare center will provide children with high-quality care and offer educational
