Essay title: War in Iraq
War in Iraq
The death toll of our American troops have reached into the thousands, is this war such a great idea? I dont think so because the Bush administration originally told the American public that the war was being fought to capture the terrorists that killed thousands in 911, after that Bush changed his focal point to finding “weapons of mass destruction”, after the capture of Sadaam Hussain, once again Bush has entered a new reason for continuing the war with Iraq, its so we can spread democracy to the citizens of Iraq. Bush has changed his mind so many times I dont think he has a clue what he is doing or why.

After 911, we had the whole world on the brink of love. Everyones heart was open. Most Muslims were shedding tears for us. At that moment, our leader had a choice. His claim was that Iraq was sponsoring terrorists who had attacked us on 9/11. This war is going completely against the Geneva Convention, which was signed by all members of the UN, including the U.S.A. It states, “Any country can only use war in reaction to a direct attack on that country or with appropriate approval by the UN based on specific findings.” We have no proof that Iraq had any connection to 9/11.

President Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq after citing, among other reasons, charges that Husseins regime was hiding weapons of mass destruction, but no such weapons were found after his expulsion in April 2003. Iraqs weapons of mass destruction appear to have been destroyed by UN specialists following the 1991 Gulf War. You would think that the President would have had knowledge of that. President Bush blames this discredited reason for war on poor intelligence. His lack of intelligence is more like it.
