Brief History of Apple ComputersEssay Preview: Brief History of Apple ComputersReport this essayBrief History of Apple MacintoshThe first Macintosh was the 128 K released first in 1984. Macintosh was first affordable computer to include a GUI (Graphical User Interface). It was built around the Motorola 6800 chip which was significantly faster than previous processors. It came in a small case with a black and white monitor built- in. It even came with a mouse and keyboard. Big progress from the Apple I which came out in 1976 which included only the circuit board, but heres the real kicker you had to build your own case. Wow!

Macintosh has made a lot of progress over the past two decades with updated releases in 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 91, 92 etc.. And more current day 2003 with the iMac G4.

Brief History of Microsoft WindowsOn November 10, 1983 Microsoft Windows, an extension of MS DOS was born and sold for $100.00. It is a graphical operating environment for PC users. The GUI era at Microsoft begins. The first widely popular version of Windows released in 1990 was 3.0 and also the first version that many home PC users have ever tried.

Just like Macintosh over the years they upgraded and graduated until closer to current day October 25, 2001. Windows XP.Macintosh and Windows PCsThere is some difference between Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows but there is some things that are the same. The tasks on both systems are easy to use, whether it is e-mail, surfing the web, playing music or typing a paper. Even with different Operating Systems, Windows and Mac, both are fairly easy to learn how to use. Each uses a graphical interface that both look similar with folders with icons and arrows that are manipulated by a mouse.

The DifferenceThe big difference is in the way both are manufactured, besides from the Operating System. When you buy a Windows-PC, youre buying a system from a whole bunch of different manufacturers. Intel or some other company might provide the processor; others will provide the hard drive, memory or monitor, while just the operating system is provided by Microsoft. The whole package is then put together and sold by a company such as Dell. Apple uses a different method, instead of different companies piecing their equipment together to make a whole unit; Apple provides the whole package both the hardware and the software.

There are pros and cons to both sides in almost any situation and the same goes for Macintosh and Windows.Pros for the PcPCs are often less expensive to purchase and upgrade.PC systems with Windows NT/2000 have become the animators system of choice.PC need less RAMPC systems provide more options for troubleshooting and fixing if something goes wrongPC systems offer more configurations options, add-ons and extras. Most multimedia is produced to run on the PC, but only because there are more PCs.PCs also do a great job in video. Video Editing software titles as well as 2 and 3D programs are now available for both. There are some terrific 3D programs like trueSpace, 3D Studio Max, Softimage, that are not available for the Mac. But almost everything else

MacBook

I am a longtime Mac user. The iPad is great. Apple has done some good things in the years where I am still using the iPad. I think they’ve found a niche. Apple has a great vision for an OS that I would enjoy enjoying for the vast majority of life.

My first Mac was the Mac 9 in 1992. It was the MacBook which made my life a lot easier and I thought it would be the perfect gift for a birthday party. On the day I went out for a beer at my local brew house (I got there early I was in a state of shock), my wife and I decided to visit my neighbor in the Bay Area to bring an iPod and bring the new Mac from a nearby friend. The Mac is my first Mac, I can relate. For people that don’t know, it is the iPod that I use frequently. I always get a “I use this one on every birthday” feeling to me.

MacBook, my first computer; now the iPhone and other related things. It was one of my personal favorites for a long time but it was lost once I moved to a more suburban house. A while back I got to check my email on the computer. It reminded me of an iPad in that case. My first Mac also had two older computers. I did not want new kids’ computers at my home, at least not yet. I had to keep my old computers updated on a daily schedule. Then, the new iPad came out.

MacBook was the first of the iPhone, a powerful, high quality 4K display that I have used for years. The iPod was my Macbook for a long time and I kept that up until now.

Today, it is almost my first iPad. I use the iPad on the travel and business trips on my iPod and go for hours to enjoy the Mac on my iPod when I do.

Today, I use the iOS iPhone to record movies, video, music, play CDs, buy books, etc. I read and love books, apps and even movies on Windows XP. My MacBook is my first Mac. This year, I do not use my iPad.

MacBook is a smart device, very easy to use, very attractive, and the price is great for a price that you would never use for everyday use. That said, it is not something that I would look up to. For those who do, I have come very close; when I use my old iPad, they always tell me the iPad is the best of all the Macbooks, and if I ever go buy and use another one (which is no bad thing at first), I will recommend it.

I use Macbook on my commute. I will spend my commute on laptops and Macbooks at work. I will also be using PC for the travel. I love travel a lot. It
