Brandon and Adam have very different backgrounds. Before Brandon became a Grammy- nominated contemporary Christian artist, Brandon Heath spent his childhood years in Nashville, Tennessee. Brandon received a guitar as a Christmas gift at the age of 13, supplementing his musical efforts by performing in a school choir. (MyPlay) Adam on the other hand is also a Grammy Award winning lead singer of band Maroon 5. Adam was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and began playing music with his junior- high friends guitarist. He moved to attend Five Towns College in New York. “Levine would later say that living in New York had a large impact on his musical point-of-view.” (A&E Television Networks) They both started performing in their high school years that led them to become famous singers that are well known in the music industry.

As a teen, Brandon and Adam had a lot of trouble getting accepted into colleges. Adam didn’t want to let a big school let him play in his free time in school because he’s gay, while Brandon is an alcoholic and had to put a lot of stress on his mental health. Brandon had a hard time being accepted into any school, let alone any college, so Brandon realized that this way of being is what makes his music special in a way he knew nothing of.
