What inspired me to write as Blanche DuBois psychiatrist was the fact that I felt bad for Blanche. She was a young woman, who felt alone in the world, with no one to have love and support from. Writing as Blanches psychiatrist, I was able to creatively think on how the doctor in the story would heal her. Though they did not portray this in the play, I was able to fill in the gap that led to Blanches recovery.
After reading the Streetcar named desire, I became very aware of how Blanche acted and how her mindset was. During this piece, I had to portray how Blanche was not just an ordinary girl with an ordinary problem in a mental hospital. I felt that adding the part of other patience like her, especially one who was depressed, was important because it shows how Blanche was so easily capable of committing all the sins she had done in the past.
Towards the end of this piece, I had included how I would exactly cure Blanche, what sort of method I would use to cure her. It was fairly difficult to think, but in Blanches case, forgetting about the past and accepting that she had committed those sins is the best medicine.
