Community in To Kill A Mockingbird
Community in To Kill A Mockingbird is different from our community in many ways. Many people Believe that a community should be like all the other communitys, nice and peaceful. The point is, is that the community back then was different then it is today. Harper Lees To Kill A Mockingbird is basically a lesson about how the communitys treated each other. To understand the lesson in To Kill A Mockingbird, you have to understand what the author is trying to tell you.

The people in To Kill A Mockingbird think that there is groups of communitys, Such as the towns people, black community, and the dirt poor community. People insist that the money and skin color should be separated into various groups depending on the money and skin color. The communities dont really agree with each other because their different.

The black community in To Kill A Mockingbird treated each other with respect, because they learned to get along. Now the black community always cared from one another, the blacks had their own community obviously; they never had things that the whites had. The blacks were treated different because of their skin color; they didnt have the same rights as the whites did. The blacks didnt really care what the whites said about them, they just ignored them.

“Its not necessary to tell all you know. Its not ladylike- in the second place, folks dont like to have someone around knowin more than they do. It aggravates em. Youre not gonna change any of them by talkin right, theyve got to want to learn themselves, and each other because they dont want to learn theres nothing you can do but keep your mouth shut or talk their language.” (Page 126)

The towns people in To Kill A Mockingbird really respected each other because they had no reason to fight. The whites always respected each other unless something occurred with a black person. The whites didnt like a black person in their part of the community, When ever a white man would be convicted of something he would not get in trouble because he was white. When black and whites would get into a fight the blacks would get arrested because of their skin color. Whites had the most rights because whites were basically the kings of everyone.

When Tom Robinson (a black man) was convicted of rapping a white woman, Atticus (Scouts father) was Toms lawyer. Atticus was called many names because he was Tom Robinsons lawyer, no white person likes when another white person trying to free a black man. Tom Robinson was guilty because of his skin color and
