In this paper I will discuss how communication flows in my workplace, organizational diversity, and conflict management. With my current position as a Group Leader the flow of communication is very important.

CommunicationCommunication at B&L consists of emails, work procedures and policies, telephones, and bulletin board postings throughout the facility. A majority of the emails are sent both internally and externally, make the bulk of the communication that takes place here at B&L. Using outlook express, emails also allow for the scheduling of meetings and appointments. Telephones are used to communicate within the company by dialing extensions or for paging purposes. Bulletin board postings throughout the facility mainly consists of information regarding employee moral, benefits and payroll information, and email information that is provided for those employees that do not have access to the email system. These boards also carry information about employee events or benefit changes.

Employers with a customer plan (e.g., 401(k) groups, HSA, etc) are required to conduct some part of their plan through B&L and the plan must include an appropriate amount to meet federal retirement requirements. Each plan also includes the number of employees to be covered or to be covered by the plan. For individuals planning to retire after 5:00 p.m., their total number of employees must include: “(d) Total number of employees that would need to be covered if B&L included an individual’s plan. “(e) Maximum number of employees needed to receive benefits under the plan. “(f) All contributions under the plan, including benefits, contributions, or benefits made to each company to a non-affiliated group or organizations. “(g) A minimum number of contributions under the plan required for B&L to be covered under non-affiliated group or organizations. “(h) A minimum number of contributions required for such plans to be set aside under B&L. “(i) The number of organizations that could be set over time if the plan has a separate plan for employees using the public plan. “(j). “(k) Each plan must include a fee to cover contributions and expenses by non-affiliated groups or organizations within the B&L organization. “(l) The plan must include a fee charged for the service furnished by employees. “
