Bjorn Ericksen Project Strategy Analysis
In recent years, about 14 countries entered sailboats in the race. Each year’s sailboat entries represent the latest technologies and human skills each country can assemble. Different countries enter in the nine-month Round the World Whitbread Sailboard Race. To make the project successful, Bjorn Ericksen has been selected as a project manager. Bjorn Ericken has a past experience as helmsman and rewarded as “best designer” of racing sailboats in the world. Bjorn Ericken is going to use his expertise to design, build, test and train the crew for next year’s Whitbread entry. To win the race and also to make the Whitbread Sailboat project successful; Bjorn chosen Karin Knutsen as a chief design engineer and Trygve Wallvik as master helmsman as a team leader responsible for getting next year’s race entry. Bjorn strategy reflects the project plan in which there is going to be two parallel paths running through the project-design and construction
