One is the big band approach; the other is a phased-in approach. [a][b]Recently, managers have a big discuss which one is better. Risk: Big band approach is much risk than phased-in approachIn the general ERP world, the big band approach has much risk than the phased-in approach.  First of all, if the company use the big band approach and there are some problems appear it is tough to return to the old system. When new regime start[v][w][x][y][z][aa][ab]s operating, it cannot be reversed out.[ac] The system usually has a critical point, beyond this stage can no longer return[ad][ae][af]. It will cause some damage to business activities. ERP system means if there is a link error, it will affect the operation of the entire system. The staff need to suit the new regime; they must make a mistake when they first touch this system[ag][ah][ai][aj][ak][al]. There is always an uncoordinated risk between departments. This approach is very stressful for all departments.
