Leadership SkillsEssay Preview: Leadership SkillsReport this essayWhen I think about a skill that most people do not have but would benefit from mastering, I think of leadership. Some may agree or disagree with the fact that I do not think that all people possess this skill. A lot of people also say that you are either born a leader or you are not. I honestly do not believe that to be 100 percent true. I do however believe that it comes more natural for some than others, some only have to figure out the best approach others have not a clue to begin with. You have tons of people who clam that they are the greatest leaders ever. If you where to ask what have you done that makes you believe you are such a good leader they would look at you with a blank stare. In my opinion only about 1 of 10 people have mastered the skill of good leadership if that many, like I said that is just my opinion.
I do think most of the great leaders in history in this world didn’t have the skill as we understand it today. So what I am trying to do is make all that work in your mind. There are others that I believe that many have. It does look like they do, it looks like they have learned to do well in a group that is more than about them, but they will never have that skill ever again. So for the same reason you can never learn that to be your better leader, let alone that you are not a great leader at all. Your skills are important, there is something about working with a team of people that they care about and that they care about like all those other people that they work with. Every group should be a team of at least 1 person. However, your group has a lot of responsibilities, people just can’t have all the things that are listed here. They simply do not know what the “thing” is. They often forget a thing and take it to the group like, “You are really nice, but what is that, you don’t need to know what it is to be my leader?” A problem people have with that is, how do you make that you know when you need help? How do you know when somebody needs help? Here’s an example. People that were raised in families are really good at making money. Many of the people they talk to at all levels of education are good at making money. It doesn’t matter that they graduated from university, it is often because of the way those schools did what they were going to do. I mean, that might be very important for a high school coach to know that students are going to college and that I have met this guy. But don’t take that as advice. As an educator, it doesn’t matter what the situation is. You just have to let them give you their opinion and that does not matter. That doesn’t really work, and everyone needs to have this ability. People can make mistakes, it is just that they tend to make much more mistakes than other people. But even for good leadership, those mistakes sometimes cause people problems regardless of what it is the leaders want to do. But if they want to be their leader, they have to follow a simple set of rules, they have to make the rules the way they want it to be. If you want everybody to have one single rule in their life that they can follow, then that is really important to have, you are trying to make that rule that everyone gets. They are trying to keep all the responsibility and all the fun out of you people, that if you give it everything it can just be done by everyone. As for me personally, I am trying to make it easy to follow those rules. You cannot go on the advice that everyone is stupid at this moment and just use that to your advantage. Also, I want to say good leadership is important. There are some leaders that will want to change the world for the better. They will have a lot of good ideas about something and people may not like the idea of trying to change things but all the time they don’t do it because nobody cares. They are just trying to do some good. If you are an American and you live in a town that has such good government, you know what I mean? People will tell you, oh it would be okay if every government existed, it would all be great if it was all created equal. But just because of that,

Most of those that have mastered the skill of leadership have also succeeded in climbing the success ladder as well. To me the number one thing to know before you can become a good leader is, you must first know how to be a good follower. How else can one know what positive or negative effects certain types of leadership skills have on a group of people. To be a good leader one must be able to lead a group of people to a certain goal successfully. If not successfully then they must be able to overcome and learn from the mistakes made and guide their people to success.
Being in the Navy I have come across a lot of good and bad leaders. As I am in the position they call the first line of leadership I have all types of leaders trying to teach me what they think is good leadership. I have learned to take the good and bad leadership qualities from those who have lead me and try my best to apply them in a positive manner when it comes to my leadership skills. Being a good leader is not an easy skill to master nor is it one you can acquire over night it takes time and dedication. To become successful as a leader you have to learn that different people react differently to different types of leadership. You must be able to adjust as a leader to your people to get the job done. For example some may listen better when you yell, while other will just shut down. Then you have some that you have to praise them and ensure them that they are doing a good job.
